Oil and Filter change.
Chipex.co.uk to the rescue. Perfect match and 3X the paint This system allowed me do do almost totally invisible repairs to a lot of chips. At £35 its not cheap but the results are so good I would reorder and would recommend too.
A baboon could get a good finish!
Fitted new wiper blades all round, as the old ones were disintegrating! Went for Michelin Stealth Hybrids on the front, which were a teensy bit fiddly to fit, but seem very solid, and were half the price of Bosch AeroTwins.![]()
I've had cheap brands... Bosch (from Halfords) and Halfords branded wipers which all disappointed... I was shocked about Bosch with it being so big and reputable.
Would you recommend the Michelin's?
My assumably original wipers are intact, but the bottom thirds aren't wiping dirt off so I was considering buying some Valeo's as I know Valeo do a lot of OEM stuff from the factory for Fiat cars.
Swooped the engine oil out with my new toy.. an oil pump.
The ease of use and the fact that it avoids touching the sump plug, which might be damaged/stripped, has always had a certain appeal for me. However I like the idea of a nice big hole allowing a goodly flow of oil to remove as much crap as possible along with the used oil. So, for me , it'll always be a drain via the sump plug. In fact I would go so far as to say I wouldn't buy a car that didn't have one, although I'm only aware of the Smarts in this category? What volume did it remove?

Good question by the way Charlie.
Been about 6 days since I took Becky out round the side streets for a half hour just to loosen everything up and get the engine good and hot. Everyone around here is being very good about staying in and just going for a walk from time to time. No one has been using their car at all and I can foresee problems with this. So I decided to let her rest for a bit longer. I'm not a great believer in running an engine without driving the car, but worked the brake pedal a few times just to induce slight movement in the caliper and wheel cylinder pistons. Also worked the hand brake a few times just to reduce the chance of it seizing and finished up by chocking the wheels, as my hard standing is on a bit of a slope, and leaving the handbrake off. She'll also go on the smart charger once a week just as a safeguard. Might take her a wee run later in the week.
