I'm looking to buy a new car soon and im torn between two cars!

its either the Peugeot Urban Move for £6607.90 thats wih air con as standard

or

Fiat Panda Multijet Air con in Black which works out £6659.00

both do roughly same MPG

any one suggestions on which one?

Have you test driven them both? Weigh up the pros and cons of each following this.

That will probably make the descision for you, that is if if you havent done a test drive of both already.

You will get a biased view on here im afraid as you do in all the other sections

a 107 diesel???

the fiat/gm multijet engine is reputed to be a gem, not only nice to drive, nipppy, amazing economical, tuning potential. but its servicing is dirt simple, couldn't tell youexactly what makes it so easy, but there is a topic on why its so good. so remember that servicing it in the future will cost you less than other similar diesel engines.

the peugeot, if its a diesel, I'm not sure what generation of engine will be in it, but the french's are pretty good in the diesel department aswell (used to be the leader)

TBH, both similar cars, similar money, similar costs involved, go test em both, and go with your gut feeling. Its also worth checking up on what your local dealers are like, I don't mean ask them, I mean ask their customers (go thru forums like this but for peogeots aswell) what they think of them. there are a lot of fussy/problemed fiat dealers, most have been dealt with by now, but then they'll still be bad peogeot ones.
just find out whats best for you (y)

Panda - 5 doors, adequate boot, room enough for 4 adults - no really, there is!

107 - 3 doors, not enough room for 4, and a tiny boot, to boot (bmm-tish!). Funky glow-in-the-dark heat controls, and a standard iPod socket.

They're not exactly the same kind of car - the 107 is funkier but less practical. They're hard to split on costs, both engines are excellent, and the tax is a laughable £35 a year. The 107 is designed to be cheap, so there is exposed metal inside the car, and the boot lid is entirely glass. The Panda is, I think, a more grown up car, and pretty refined. If you're thinking of a 107, I'd suggest a Toyota Aygo, which is the same car, but slightly less ugly, and should have a marginally higher resale value than the 107 or Citroen C1. Think about what you need the car for, test drive them both, and then decide - either way you won't go far wrong.

The 107/C1/Aygo is very tinny in comparison to the Panda the doors shut with a clang rather than a thud, the five door doesn't even have wind down windows in the back they are just pop outs.I would say the Panda is a lot better car for longer trips as well. But as others have said we're bound to be biased on here.:)

I would never even consider a 3 door car, having to jump in & out to let people in (n) plus the rather large doors when parked in confined areas (n) are a definate no go for me

Define your requirements and mileage!

I'm a Peugeot 205 fan (GTI) and my wife has a 205 STDT which we wanted to replace.

The similarities between the 205 and Panda are amazing - physical size, 0-62 etc

We have just ordered a Panda Multijet Dynamic aircon + split and sliding rear seat. This is our first Fiat, the deciding factor being the ability of the SDE engine.

With the diesel, we are buying more than just a city car, as the 107 is, with more boot space and lower maintenance costs (chain drive, no cambelt).

Hope this helps.....

Well I traded my Peugeot 107 in for a Fiat Panda 100 HP. I'd had it for about a year and a half, and although I liked it at first, and its very economical, its lack of grip and poor motorway handling made me want to change it. Also after 1 years ownership I grew to hate its funky cheeky grin radiator.

At speeds above 60 the 107 steering tends to feel very imprecise (those tyres are REALLY narrow to keep the emissions down) and it really doesn't feel that safe. Even worse when it rains. Inside its comfortable but basic. I even had to pay £100 for some rear speakers and £30 for a rev counter. If you just stick to the town its fine. But I'd always go for a Panda now in preference - any model !!

I don't think the two can be compared, as they are totally different type of cars. 107 is a supermini to go shopping in town while Panda is a MPV that can accomodate people even for very long journeys, much larger then 107.
I've tested the C1 which is similar to 107 but it seems to be only a city car, very noisy engine, extremly little space, practically no space in the boot. Panda has refined engines, space for 4-5 backpacks in the boot, and is a pleasure to drive for hundred of miles (until the small tank gets empty :bang: ).
If you want only a city car then 107 is certainly a nice option (although I know C1 to be cheaper), if not Panda is so much better.

i test drove a C1 and thought it was alright. engine is noisey, but the 3 cylinder makes quite a nice noise. i liked it anyway. quite funky little cars. of the aygo, c1 and 107, i kinda like the rear of the c1 the most but the front of the 107 and aygo.

I haven't ever been in a 107, but did have an Aigo as a hire car once. Had to do 300 miles in it in about 5 hours. Must say I found it so uncomfortable, and the boot space was laughable. Although the external dimensions of the Panda are slightly bigger, the space is put to better use in the Panda which makes it so much more practical.

The Panda is a well made and very solid feeling car, the 107 isnt.
Theres really only one good thing about them and thats the Toyota input, but dont forget the French put some effort into it too and thats never a good thing when it comes to cars... sorry but I wouldnt even compare the two, there in a different league to each other, Panda everytime.

I know someone who bought a C1, because he said it was the closet thing he could get to a Cinq, he said the Panda was too grown up! Same target but different cars, bit like fast food... Subway and McDonalds have the same target but would you want a McDonalds!?

According to my local Citroen dealer, the C1 has done wonders for their sales of the C2. People are drawn in by the bottom line price and style but end up with the C2 because they think it's worth the extra.

Now, considering how appallingly the C2 drives it doesn't say much for the C1 and it's brothers (sisters?).
