Technical What a funny few days!

The car has given me a right headache. It had a mega idle issue, I swapped out the ICV, it run for a bit and then flooded out. Then she wouldn't start and just flooded each time I tried.


Replaced the crank sensor as it had a bit of damage, no banana. Spoke with Blu (legend) who pointed me at the injector. Swapped and done.


Now it runs but struggles to idle, it's running mega rich and is popping and banging like a mad one on overrun all the time.




Probably something simple but I've changed and cleaned everything I can - MAF , TPS, Crank sensor, FPR, injector, timing has been checked and is fine.




Any ideas before plod get me for being antisocial lol

It was just excess fuel in the exhaust dude. All cleared now.

It must have got there somehow, it wasn't just magically put there by the fuel unicorn.

I'd updated the Facebook group. Thought I'd done this too.
It was the injector. It's seal had gone so it was just horsing fuel in like there was no tomorrow. Wouldn't fire because crank sensor had died, that caused it to flood with fuel. Changed everything in the end and now she's sweet.
