Personally I am saving my pennies (cos thats all I got:D) so when I renew my insurance (mid December) I can get tha Abarth kit put on and lower it.

Eventually I'd also like to put a stainless exhaust on it and chip it, but that a long way off:(

I certainly don't janejv, I make 18k basic, that goes up to around 23k because I do 10 hours a week overtime, my Mrs works 16 hours a week and makes 9k a year, this may be a lot in Macedonia, but here it's very little, it just about covers the monthly bills and living needs. We are very heavily taxed in this country and it's us middle earners who are hit the hardest!

Yep great fun making what seems like plenty but ending up paying a forking fortune in taxes and mortgages etc!

I'm sure 99% of all our salary goes out on TAX!!! Seeing as your taxed on your Pay before you get, then you pay NI (which is just more tax for folk that don't get sick), then you pay tax on fuel (for your home), Tax on your food, taxed on your savings, taxed on your bills. And that not even on your car, there your taxed on your purchase, taxed on Fuel, taxed on using the road, taxed on repairs... Pah, its the way of the world.

Which is why i moan so much when things go wrong, 'cos i've already paid probably 6 or 7 times for a goods that aint 100%.

Live life a little, get a Fiat, pick a Stilo, watch it fail, book it into a arsehole dealership, having no repairs carried out, get an ulcer, suffer depression, get a baseball bat, get f**kin even!!!
 
Tax on savings is a real **** take, your already taxed on what you earn, so then what? They penalise those prudent enough to put a little to one side further[:(!]

Okay, I´ve had a high-speed run against a new Accord c-TDi (spelling?) last week in my 1.8 5dr. The thing is, that the Honda, with its 140 HP, COULD NOT catch me. We went all the way to 215 km/h. I then turned off the highway and met the SAME guy 5 minutes later in a traffic jam. He asked me what I had in my car because he couldn´t reel me in. I couldn´t believe it, the guy was actually giving it all he had! So I guess the 1.8 isn´t THAT slow after all :).
 
nice to hear ... thats the first HONDA Diesel ever made and ive heard nothing but praises for that engine its sofisticated its powerfull and it doesnt consump ... but anyway nice to hear that you make jerk out of that honda!

Well.... everything is faster than my car. All cars, vehicles, chariots, donkeys, elephants and wooly mammoths :p. Seriously there is not a single car that can't accelerate faster than mine especially when I'm on the 5th gear on a motorway. I have complained about that before, when I first got my car, and now after 18000 km I still feel that its acceleration (when on 5th) sucks [xx(].

Mine is really quite good in 5th for acceleration and gets from 80mph to 100mph in hardly any time at all.In fact it is good from as little as 30mph all the way up.
If yours is obviously slow I would have it on a Dynamometer and see what Hp you are producing, then you have something positive to tell your dealers instead of something subjective.

ISA's are fine, but you can still only save £3000 a year and although you don't get taxed on it, you do get less interest to start with! B)

I've been Mr Prudent over the last year, and i feel like i'm being kicked in the nads twice by the tax man.... its going to take ages at this rate to pay for my swish extenstion! B)

Back to the original subject, as soon as I have £330 to spunk, I'm going to give Angel Tuning a visit as Nige reckons he can now do the 1.6 and 1.8 petrol units, I will update you and let you know if it's worth spending your money and if the performance gains are good or bad.

You gonna do a brake upgrade TC? I asked Nige about it, he reckons the standard kit is up to it, though an upgrade would be of obvious benefit, tho I suppose your not talking the power hikes you would be remapping a diesel.

I am very tempted myself, esp as Nige can get 175bhp from the JTD[:0] I'm just a bit of a wuss and worried over insurance issues:(

Oh, as for upgrading your airfilter, I've noticed a few options recently, notably from Novitec, there is another tho, can't remember the name, check the links I posted in the recent lower thread. You still going for K&N?

Well, I 've been on his web-site and it's a totally undetectable upgrade so who's going to tell your insurance?

I'm just waiting to raise the cash and I'll let you know what happens, it'll raise my 1.6 which is currently 105bhp by 12 bhp, so it should be a little more responsive.

Hopefully I'll return from my holiday with some spare cash and I'll do it then, I always tend to bring more money with me than I need!
