Technical Ways to diagnose Electric Side Mirrors not working?

I’ve had my 05 Punto Sporting for over a year now, and ever since I’ve had the car, the electric side mirrors haven’t worked.

It gets parked on the drive and the mirrors keep getting knocked out of place by my brothers scraping past my car while getting into my mums car, and finally got to the point where I want to sort it.

Any suggestions on diagnosing the problem with be appreciated.

Check the fuses.
Check it actually has electric mirror, Many people break them and replace them with cheaper manual mirrors off eBay, no internal adjuster and they can't plug them in so they just leave the in position and carry on.

Its an extremly simple set up and usually if its something complicated that's gone wrong you'll find they move in one direction and not the others. if its completely dead then its something like the fuse or power to the switch/poor earth.

As Andy has said check the fuse
Then check the wiring on the mirrors is connected
Then I'd that's fine I'd get a multi meter and start checking for power first at the fuse then at the mirror itself
