Technical Water warning light on

We had a great long weekend in Flamborough in our Fiat motorhome. It is a 1991 2.0 petrol. I noticed that the water temperature light came on and stayed on, while the temperature gauge stayed constant at just above 90 going a little higher in traffic when the fan came on. The red light stayed on all the time and I tried to ignore it, but I will need to fix this. Any ideas from those wiser?

Poor earth probably.

Clean the main tabs 1st.

Disconnect battery for an hour.. see if its still there on rconnection.
