General water leak

noticed since the cold patch in jan that there is a leak in the front passenger side. quite a bit of water builds up on the floor. now ive heard this is a common enough problem but is it usually from the same place? if so, does anyone know where?

Could be heater matrix but open the bonnet and the sill along the bottom of the window screen has 2 drainage points, if these are blocked and full of water it can flow into the car

Coolant is usually smelly even when only water is used in the system.
