I bought a Lemon!

Bought my second hand 2007 (75,000mls) 2.3JDT back in August 2011. To date and only 8000mls later I've had:

New spare wheel lowering mechanism (free of charge).
Windscreen wiper assembly seized (450.-).
5 visits to the garage to fix air-conditioning (1700.-).
Various seized/rusted bolts and glow-plugs resulting in new EGR and air intake etc. (2,700.-)
Missing middle section of engine guard (115.-)
2 failed MOT because of to OBD light due to dampness in ECU connectors (158.-)

I'm pretty sure I'm another victim of the water ingress issue and want to address the problem but my search method appears to be somewhat lacking and I would very much appreciate a link to the relevant threads that deal with this. I've looked at the P-seal option but I've got quarter inch gaps in places and can't see how I could make a decent seal with this method.

What about the right hand wiper (from the front) scuttle cut out? The water just runs straight onto the electronics below.

Please let the nightmare end.

Thanks Ray, I've removed the scuttle and found half the retaining clips broken or missing. I'll be looking to modify the fixing method by using self-tapping screws, spacers and some sort of rubber seal. 10 of those clips cost £20.- plus postage over here.

I've also discovered this disconnected pipe/hose which was attached to the underside of the scuttle with clips. I reaches to about the middle of the windscreen but I can't see where it should be connected to.

Any ideas?

I think you will find that the piece of pipe in the image you posted does not attach to anything as it is the antenna for your central locking.

google search for ducato water leak will give u more than u can read in a week.
i found a good way of connecting drainage pipes is to get some poly pipe inserts(like what they use on domestic plastic plumbing) then drill out the holes so that the lip on the top of the insert wont push through. adhesive silicone and a plastic pipe to push fit from underneath and leave to dry.
