I'm getting the Capri on the road next week :D and I want to upgrade the sounds a little. It's got the standard Ford radio/cassette (plus my minidisc walkman on a tape adaptor) and 4 standard speakers. It's far from high quality, but it all works OK, and all I want to do for now is add a little bit of low-end, so that my drum 'n' bass is more than just drum!

I'm after an amplified sub box/bass tube with high-level inputs that I can connect to the rear speakers. I really dont care too much about the quality, just so long as it works. It's got to be as cheap as possible too - ideally under thirty quid. Does anyone know of anything?

Cheers!

Man, I know that you want cheap bass but what you mentioned is a SPLX which are not good at all, try and bid on something else.

I know how "good" SPLX are ;) , but really, all I'm after is a bit of thump! Sound quality's not a consideration here, so long as it serves the puspose of adding a little bass to the car's tinny 1980s stereo then I'm happy (y)

If anything better comes up for my meagre budget, though, I'll take it! :D

No problem. Coming to think about it better to be careful not to overpower with too much bass.

You could also look for some cheap 3 way Speakers, for example Pioneer Accelerate Series are fairly cheap for their performance, just make sure they are round not 6x9, as a plus side you will have even better mids and highs.
