I have just got a new phone, a 7600, and i am try to put all my old numbers in it, at the moment i have to sit there and send them all one by one via a business card over infra red!

Is there a way you know of to send them all in one go? as i am only down to C and its really doing my head in!

The numbers are saved on my old phones memory, not the sim card.

Many thanks for any ideas

You've got a really daunting task ahead of you Paul...

That's really unlucky mate.

Ps. Sorry I can't help!

Ian.

Ok, this all depends on what your old phone is.

1. Simplest way is to put the sim card in your old phone, copy your contacts to the sim card and then put the sim in your new phone than copy the contacts from your sim card to your new phones memory.

2. The 7600 has Bluetooth, Infra Red and Pop Port USB, so if your old phone has Bluetooth or IR, simply send that way. Like I said, all depends on what your old phone is.

3. If your old phone is a Nokia, and you can connect it to your PC using Data Suite, then your new version of Data Suite for 7600 should allow you to transfer your contacts.

Once again, depending on what make and model your old phone is, this will dictate the ease of transfer and the level of detail that transfers across.

Let me know what your old phone is and I will be able to give you a specific answer.

yeah paul i was gonna suggest the first thing that rob has suggested, but if you can't do that get yourself to your nearest carphone warehouse - they transfer numbers for free - they have all the tools n that - they should be happy to do it for you.

I have kept the same sim card... the problem is that all my contacts have saved straight to my old phone (7250i) so it isnt as simple as copying the contacts from one sim to the other....i think i will just give both phones to my girlfriend and let her send them one by one on infra red!lol...:)

Thanks for everyones suggestions, if there are any more then keep them coming...

I am still at C by the way, i gave up!

paul.....

what you need to do is put your sim in your old phone...

then transfer as many numbers from the phone onto your sim....

then put your sim in your new phone and transfer the numbers off the sim onto the phone...

then put the sim back in your old phone and delete the numbers off the sim, and transfer the last of the numbers from your old phone onto your sim...

then put your sim into your new phone and transfer the last of the numbers from your sim onto your new phone and robert is very much your mothers brother!

P.S. finished meshing my rear bumper yesterday, looks loads tidier now! oh and i have had to stick some bicycle rear reflectors on my car for mot, because i took mine out and fibreglassed over them!lol...My mate nicked them from halfords where he works!

When my sister has children, people can say that to them for real, because Robert(o) will be their mother's brother LOL ;)

C'mon Paul, it really isn't that hard.

Old Sim in Old phone (or new sim if you wish)

Enter your contacts section, and select "Save to Sim Card"

When done, remove sim card and insert into new phone.

Enter your contacts section and select "Save Contacts to memory"

And then Robert will be your mother's brother :)

I feel for your missus. She'll have thumb cramps LOL ;)

no worries paul, get it done! lol!

sounds good about your car aswell mate, i hadn't realised that you've taken out the reflectors but yeah just looked at the pics you sent me and it does look better without them!

your car is looking mint now then!

My car is nearly complete, i am running out of things to buy for it now!lol...:)

Yeah, the 7600 is not bad at all. It's Nokia's first 3G phone, but it only has a rear facing camera so can't be used for full on video calling. Other than that, it follows Nokia's quirky yet functional design rationale.

It's a shame they didn't make it a Series 60 phone, that uses the Symbian OS, like the 3650/3660/7650/6600 ranges. That is like the Linux of mobile OS's and really rocks :) My 6600 is a blinding bit of kit and there are some really cool applications for it.

Hope you enjoy it, and if I can help any further, just shout :)

Rob

Carphone Warehouse will change all your contacts across or you can use a laptop with infrared and a Nokia Package off Kazaa.

Easy.

Or you could download the Nokia "package" direct from Nokia free, and not infect your PC with a million bugs, worms, viruses and countless spyware packages ;)

Rob

just to let you all know its all done! and it only took my gf 7h 23m 32seconds, that must be a record!LOL....

Only joking, i copyied it all over to my sim as stated then copied to phone etc...

Rob mate, you just spoke a different laguage with what ever you said about my phone...it seems to cover every thing i need it to and more so i am well chuffed with it! Bought it of matt on here, he has a brava! and the phone looks well cool, everytime i get it out everyone is like, what da f**k is that, some think its a portable tv!lol...

Thanks for your help on a very meaning less task but would have otherwise killed me!

Thanks

Paul R
