To reset the ECU settings.

Is there a gurantee that the Airbag light WILL stay on?

Is there anyone who has taken their battery off and left it off overnight for example, and their airbag light has stayed off?

No problems here. If the airbag light is on then there is a fault somewhere.

Re: Re: Unplugging Battery...

Yeah.. I've asked a few people.

Bahney did it and his Airbag light stayed on.
So did Tony's (With the Light blue HLX)

.. But I did it to my TD last week and the airbag light didn't stay on - But I just thought that was because it was a diesel.

I don't want to reset the ECU then drive around with the airbag light on - that'd really **** me off!

I'll try it tonight.. hm lol

Re: Re: Re: Unplugging Battery...

i disconnected my battery for a few days while i did my ice install, i pluged it back in and it was fine, but i had my radio turned on without the engine running and it drained the battery in like 10min, lol (you live and learn) so i put the battery on charge overnight plugged it back and nd airbag light came on and stayed on :(

after 3+ months you kinda get used to it, lol infact it would be strange without it now ! lol

Re: Re: Re: Re: Unplugging Battery...

Have you tried disconnecting the air bag ECU and reconnecting it? I have never needed to so I never had so I dont know if it would help, but its worth a try. You may need OBD communication and equipment to re-set it, which I am working on!
