Tonight I'm going to lash the pulleys and cam housing on. I started it late last night but realised that its going to involve a LOT of tea drinking and head scratching!!!

Its one thing taking an engine apart and rebuilding it.....but rebuilding and engine that you've never seen before is near impossible. Especially with the joke that is the Haynes manual! haha

But yeah my list of parts required is not too bad now.

1) Smaller head bolts
2) Cam belt tensioner
3) Turbo gaskets and fittings
4) HT leads
5) Intercooler
6) Guages

Need to get cracking.

I'm off!

Your servo's on the passenger side? That rules out an easy upgrade for me then!

Speaking of easy engine conversion................this is NOT one of them!

LOL

However. Progress :)

Note that the drivers mount has been repositioned and welded 6 inches forward and has to be taken an inch closer to the wing so that the final drive end plate does not stick into the wheel arch. The Punto GT box is 2 inches wider than the standard Panda gearbox, so have to compensate.

Looks like its an engine out job to change the alternator belt! hahaha

Tightttttttttttt!!

If ever this comes up for sale don't post it as my wife will kill me.
I am nearly in an old folks home now, drooling badly etc will put me there.
As Del would say luverly jubbly.

Progress!

Finally got the engine mounted nicely.

Such hard work! Been up every night into the small hours. Had to move the right hand wing mount 6 inches forward, bring the gearbox mount nearly to the front of the car and make new brackets out of thick steel for each one.

Also had to cut a lot out of the wheel arch / chassis leg to accomodate the larger gearbox end plate.

Then there was a major clearance issue regarding the water pump and the r/h inner wing. And then just when everything looked good, I took measurements and found it was drooping towards the gearbox end by a few mm's, so had to remake the mounts!

Anyway, its mounted nicely now so treating myself to a reasonable bed time.

Gear linkage is on the cards tomorrow......even more hassle! Nothing fits....at all!

If theres enough interest i'll write a 'how to put an uno turbo in a panda' guide LOL..........jk ;)

Very cool! Kinda glad I went for the y10 turbo option though just because you don't need to cut any bodywork but yours is going to be in a different league when its complete. A total chav eater  Is it going to be subtle on the outside? Or you going to go for full the race look? (or of course something in between if there is such a thing lol).

Can't wait to see it, keep up the good work! :slayer:

My look is going to be subtle and well stood Panda.

I want a similar if not exact stance to that of 'scotty' on here who had 20mm wheel spacers. The wheels filled the arches beautifully!

Bodywork though, its having a satin black boot and a satin black bonnet. Something that makes it stand out a little but can also blend in. Hopefully I'll spray the intercooler black too so it doesn't stand out too much.

Also having a cheeky '750' badge on the back for extra points when its eating 'fast' cars!
