A better starting point would be the 1.4 16v as it's pretty much the 1.4Tjet from the Bravo, you could swap over the internals and turbo etc straight over and map your ecu but then again you have the 1.6
plus the gearbox is only a reinforced version of that used on the 1.2/1.4 Stilos so unlikely to be capable of handling the output of a 1.6 turbo.
No it isn't. 1.6 is a different box to the 1.2/1.4. It's only a 5-speed, 1.2/1.4 is a 6 speed.
Yes that's correct but check the gearbox codes and you'll see that they are the same for the 1.2/1.4 and 1.6 except there's an R on the end under the 1.6, short for reinforced.
Gear ratios don't nessecarily mean its the same box though, I suspect the casing is different, which means its a different box and won't bolt straight on.
Usually FIAT give a different part number to the box when it has a different bellhousing.
Still, the 1.4 T Jet 500 (500 Abarth) box is essentially the same one as fitted to the Punto GT, Alfa 155, etc.
Don't know if the Stilo uses the cup type box (like the Punto, Cinq, 500 Abarth, etc. etc.) or a shaft and extra bearing type set up like the other T Jets, MR2s, etc.
I remember seeing another members motors thread where someone fitted a Tjet into an Uno using the Uno Turbo gearbox iirc it wasn't a Tjet box anyway, I've even read of Alfa 6 speed boxes fitting the Abarth Stilos and GTA LSD's fitting the Abarths too so there seems to be a degree of compatibility between the range?
