ive got an abarth turbo for my 1.4 tjet , to replace the standard turbo .i want to hybrid the abarth turbo aswell , but would my car blow up if i got it done ?

No he wouldnt?

Manifold is only different on the SS along with the turbo. Intercooler is the same on Tjet, Mjet and Abarth.

Your car wont blow up, but you wont really achieve any more power as you will need new injectors, better exhaust and i would change the intercooler so you dont suffer from heatsoak.

Col, a member on here has the abarth SS turbo, manifold, injectors etc and hes pushing 200bhp.

Col's car is amazing, inspiring tbh read the members motors thread on his T-Jet (y)

Would you need to hybrid the abarth turbo? Be fine wouldn't it, as a straight swap with a map?

doesnt matter what turbo you use the abarth or tjet turbo theyll change all the internals anyway i already spoke to turbo technics they have a kit using the ihi 36/37 casing that will handle 220bhp with appropriate other modifications.

your car wont blow up but your wallet will its £580 + VAT and then fitting if you cant do that yourself. (y)

it is possible to get 180-190 bhp without changing injectors isnt it col?

A map on everything standard on the t-jet will see you around 150 to 160 bhp, add a few extras like FMIC and GSR with a good exhaust system you'll probably be touching on those figures, mix an abarth turbo in there with a tweaked map by red dot its possible id say.

if changing injectors for more power. how much would it cost? which injectors would be needed? and would manifold have to be changed?

Cols? Nooo lol :p Its alot better,

But everything you will need comes off the abarth or in cols case abarth SS depends what you want for your money, you wouldn't need to change injectors and everything to get decent power out the T-Jet plus it would be an expensive thing to do without much knowledge.

i have the abarth turbo. im currently saving up for a forge intercooler. i then will get an exhaust, gsr or forge induction kit and then a remap from red dot. i will be very happy with 190bhp. i dont think 200bhp is possible without changing cams and injectors so im told

The injectors are at there limit at the 180/190bhp mark. Personally if Fiat are changing them on the SS for 190bhp i dont see how they can be good enough. Danger is you starve the engine of petrol higher up the rev range.

Your right but as I said its how much your willing to spend for the extra power, can get very decent read outs on a standard T-JET, or is this because I have a 1.4 8v ha :p
