Hi all,
I have a 2007 Fiat Grande Punto (1.4 petrol), and recently I’ve noticed a strange electric or hybrid-like sound when accelerating – but only when the air conditioning is on.
The sound is most noticeable in 1st and 2nd gear during light or moderate acceleration.
It sounds a bit like a high-pitched whirring or humming, almost like an EV.
As soon as I turn the A/C off, the sound disappears completely.
The A/C still cools fine, and there are no warning lights or performance issues.
I also noticed clear water dripping from under the car, near the exhaust and center section. From what I’ve found, that’s likely just normal A/C condensation, so I’m not too worried about that.
