Grande Punto col7104's Grande T-Jet

Introduction

Well, the ten week wait was certainly worth it :D. Coming from the Seicento this thing feels like a Roller or something hehe, though I find the seats give me a backache after a few hours of motorway driving.

Optional sub was well worth it - you're not going to get real deep bass from it (for you audiophiles) but for what I need it for it's perfect.

Has an annoying rattle when going over bumps, coming from behind me...need to look into that one.

But on the whole, love it. Here's a few pics to get the ball rolling, though if you've seen one you've seen them all...

Nice car, I bet it was worth the wait, I bought my first GP Sporting 4 weeks ago same colour, spec as yours (1.4 petrol), I saw it on the Sunday on the spur of the moment, test drove it and picked it up 5 days later, when I drove there was a knocking noise from the front suspension area so booked in at a dealer and it turned out to be the steering shaft, some nuts had come loose so they were replaced and tightened and is now running as it should. The noise you are experiencing could be your doors or door and hopefully nothing to worry about. I'm hopefully having my rear windows tinted in a couple of weeks.

Yeah tis great! I'm almost certain it's coming from behind me, like the right rear pillar sort of area. Quite puzzling. I'll take it back to the dealer some time.

Handles great for a standard setup. Less bodyroll than my Sei which has aftermarket springs and shocks and much more stable. Though really can't compare with the feedback - can feel everything in the Sei, be it through the wheel, the pedals, the seat or the noise. :slayer:

Nothing like that in the Punto, though probably a good thing as I find my driving is so much more relaxed in this...the Sei gets off on being driven hard :D

Yep, that will be the door lock and striker problem. Your dealer will sort this out for you. Mines been replaced twice now in a year so I think it will eventually happen again. Wrapping tape around the striker also stops the noise but whilst its under warranty the dealer should sort it.

Hehe not long! Gathering the last few bits. I just want to make sure I enhance a very good design and not make it look worse! ...so many people turn round to have a look as it is ...not used to that:cool:

Just going by feel I'm not sure if I've made a very costly mistake choosing 8J rims - will they fit!

Not sure how I missed this one, nice purchase Col......in (y)

Quite a difference from the Sei I bet (I find jumping between the GP and the Rallye is like night and day)

Curious to see what mods you've got planned for it mate :)

Cheers Si....mon :p Yeah it really highlights how far cars/Fiat have come since the Sei  Though the Sei seats are more supportive and comfy (mainly as they're so small they hug you tightly).

Seis not dented anymore :nerner: And there's nowt wrong with that mk2 Adam at all!!

As for what is planned - I'll reveal as it goes on! Though it's all cosmetic at the moment ...I'll give the engine a fighting chance to run-in before I meddle further with that.

Some random guy off the street helping out.

Hmmmm, taaassstyyy.

The finished article (well, not entirely finished)

It's too low at the moment - letting it settle for a few days, then raise it, then get it tracked, then see what the score is regarding strut/rim clearance....

Have sorted the rattle! The rear seats weren't clipped back fully :D:bang::rolleyes: Nice quiet Grande now.

Also fitted a set of Philips Xtreme or something to try and get the lights looking less yellow/dated. And de-tangoed the indicators. Ordered chrome and got the diadem type instead
