My other half (mrs Brown) has a Mk3 Punto GT last week the injector light started coming on, now it's on all the time and the turbo isn't boosting properly the boost is not even half way (about 0.5 bar). The car isn't missing or juddering, it seems to run ok but with a lot less boost any idears

i'm quite sure i read something up about fiat ecu's having a "get you home mode" that kicks in if there is a fault in the engine to prevent there being any major damage done to the engine

Had a look last night to check for split hoses ect everything ok, thought I'd check the oil (guess what NO OIL) filled it up took it for a drive, within 5 min light went and turbo boosting ok. :D Also had a word with mrs brown about checking the oil once a week

I was checking the transmission dipstick for the first month of coupe ownership  When I checked the correct one, The car was about 2 litres down on what it should be  I was very dumb, And very, very lucky

Bought a punto turbo a wee while ago and this has just happened with me the light goes on and off. going to check the level of oil. does a turbo timer affect it in anyway?

nice to see a healthy use of the search there ;) all a turbo timer does is keep the engine running to allow the turbo to spin down without loosing its oil feed.

thanks :p maybe cud be the oil feeder to the turbo be leaking causing it to drop in oil? shudnt be hard to fix tho?

no just come on there. i thot it was sumthing to do with the injectors but as i read its the level of oil i presume

Weekly check at the fuel station - tyres (remember spare!), oil, coolant, screen wash.

Once had someone remove the oil filter from my parents car 'for a laff' Was a 1.4ie tipo and managed about 8 miles, leaving a thin line of engine oil from our house until about 4 miles when it stopped. Car managed to get nearly all the way back home until it siezed up :bang:

Had to remove the bottom end, replace all the shells, wet n dry the pickup off the crank and refit. The car got going again and used less oil from then on until it was given away!

no luck the management light is still on! Gona take it to fiat and get it diagnostic check and see wot the matter is
