Tottenham Riots

So what does it say about the lack of discipline that everyone says is missing from our society when one of the first people to appear before the courts and pleading guilty to looting is a 31-year-old teacher?
........

Cos Danny said we should ban hoodies as they are religious garments did he?

I never mentioned religion, YOU did! If a law is passed to ban the covering of your face in public it should apply to all. If it doesn't it will only enforce the racial divide that we already have.

You attitude it disgusting.

Why because I refuse to be politically correct? I say what I see!

Seen the video of the injured guy being mugged? Black guy helps him up white guy then raids his bag.
End of the day 99% of these people tearing up Englands cities are ENGLISH. Nationality isn't colour it's where your born and bred.

Look closer, the black guy had a hand in the injured white guys pocket before the other white guy joined in. And no I don't think they were working together, anymore than I think rioters in birmingham were working with rioters in wolverhampton. They just happened to mug the same guy. Although, the black guy did seem to be looking for a hanky or tissue to help the injured white guy, I don't think his intention was to mug him, IMO.

Edit: youth culture being to blame. So who do you blame. Well obviously it's the young people being involved, then it's the generation that brought them up. 40-60 year olds are the people who created the scum doing this.

The "naughty step" aint working, the government and parents need a rethink.

So, one rule for them and another for the rest of us. :chin:

Like Stewart says, is a hoody a religious garment?

I'm sorry but you're woefully misunderstanding the situation here

White, black and asian youths in hoodies rioting = bad = we should ban hoodies when the weather doesn't call for it.

Muslim women wearing burkha's = not doing anything wrong = leave them be.

Your ignorance is AMAZING. Muslims aren't another race ffs. Do you have no respect for the 99% of Muslims who go about life without wanting to do any harm? Banning burkha's is every bit as silly as BA staff not being allowed to wear crosses.

The problem is not people covering their faces, it's scum covering their faces, we need to stop the scum and not take freedom away from people doing no wrong, by your logic we should ban motorcyclists from wearing helmets

I wear hoodies a lot, from my Royal Navy Hoody to my Young Farmers hoody, not everyone wearing hoodies is bad.......

DITO!

Again, I never mentioned religion or muslims, YOU did!

So everyone should not be allowed to cover their face, you said it should apply to "all races". Now no one else ever mentioned only banning black people from wearing hoodies or white people so what were you referring to then? Why should Muslims suffer because of the actions of people who are most likely not Muslims?

That's why I'll never call myself British, frankly I've never felt nationality is a very important thing. I don't feel better than you because I'm an Aussie and you're a tightfisted Irn Bru drinking Scot or whatever. I simply don't give a fock.

Sadly what a lot of people mean when they say they're "English" is that they're white, English is their first language and they're born in England.

I said if the covering of your face in public was banned then it should apply to everyone regardless of race, colour or creed. To do otherwise would only enforce the racial divide we already have. No mention of a specific religion or race.

Why "sadly"?

Again you're talking about a racial divide - we are all part of the human race, if anything you're talking about a religious divide. So should doctors be banned from wearing masks, or cyclists/pedestrians in London who would like to filter out all the crap that's in the air (like many in Tokyo do)? Or a binman who likes to wear a mask to protect from the smell, there are plenty of valid reasons for wearing a face covering - religion is as valid as any other.

I said racial divide because thats what I ment! :bang:

Where did I say I was in favour of a ban?

Doctors, binmen? Now your just being stupid.

Back on topic. It seems that the mass amount of London police stopped most of the trouble last night, however I guess that can't be kept up forever.

So basically, what is going to make the rioters/looters stop - they get tired? shops run out of goods? or they keep going until they are all arrested??

So it's not OK for doctors and binmen? What if it's a female Muslim doctor?

I think we've seen the worst of it, or atleast I hope we have, Wolverhampton is a mess already.

Don't be silly! Anyone wearing a hoody is up to no good!

Thats why I get people crossing to the other side of the road when I walk towards them

On a serious point:

I like wearing my hoodies, most of my friends wear them too. I will never stop wearing them. I wore my Navy hoody with pride, as I was in the Navy at the time!

I do live in Lincolnshire, kinda glad I live in the middle of no where at the moment!
