hi guys i recently posted about my new headunit but there appears to be too many wires behind it to get it to fit flush to the facia any advice on how i can keep them out the way while pushing the headunit back in?

What car? In some older Fiat's you can get a wire coat hanger through a gap behind/underneath the dash or similar and pull the wires down while you push the HU back into position, otherwise try tucking the wires down as much as can whilst you get the HU into position. There's no one way of doing it, just practise but there is almost always enough space below the HU to accomodate the cabling.

In my mk2b (same dash) I had an aftermarket headunit with:
2 sets of thick guage pre-outs.
arial + arial adapter
Iso block + iso converter harness
AUX out + Aux cable
USB out
AMP remote lead

and by the time I'd finished you couldn't see a single wire and everything was snug :/

Try what Eklipze said with the wire coat hanger or use my method, I got some old useless speaker wire, tied a nut to one end for weight, tied the other end to the wiring and fed it down the side of the HU to the passenger and driver footwell.

Then you can use this to pull the wiring out of the way as you slide th HU in, untie it when your done and Roberts you mother's brother (y)

Good tip thar from Smokey Joe, shall use that this weekend. If you dont have speaker wire string will do, just a weight on the end that will drop through behind the console will save a lot of hastle pushing that sucker home :slayer:

Ahhhh I have so many wires on my Y reg sei! Been sat in my car for hours with loads of cuts of my hands trying to fit this in!

Do what i did and get rid of the ISO Block all together. Then i put my own power wires and stuff to the unit and i now have looooads of room
It helps if you are running amps though as the Speaker Block takes up a lot of room behind there.
