Hi. I’m trying to source a TomTom dashboard mount and fit it to my 2013 1.3 4x4. I won’t be connecting it to a power source as I don’t intend to use the TomTom navigation as I’ll use my phone in a cradle. Does anyone know the part number for the whole unit, with the dock and surround, or anyone breaking a panda with this fitted? I’ve attached a picture for reference. I’m not particularly bothered about it having the USB socket. Thanks in advance.

There were two different choices. The photo you show is the later ‘uConnect’ cradle, designed to hold a phone. That cradle has no contacts on the stem that goes into the dash, as power comes from the USB alongside in the ‘tray’ in the dash. The earlier TomTom cradle had electrical connections in the ‘foot’ that connected to contacts in the ‘hole’ in the dash. That was soecific to a TomTom satnav. I will see if the online parts diagram shows the older option - I don’t think the online parts list is new enough to show the later phone-only holder.

I am on about the whole thing, the bit which sits in the dashboard as well as my Panda doesn’t have the dock.
I can find the cradle quite easily. It’s the bit which lives in the dashboard which I am after if anyone can shed some light on part numbers etc.

If you can find me either I will be eternally grateful!

The TomTom holder that fits into the dash is here as a Fiat accessory

Do you think I’d be able to just drill a hole in the dash to fit the accessory? After lockdown I’m tempted to just go to a scrapyard and pull one apart and fit to mine. There’s one for breaking near me which has that dash without the USB. I emailed them and said they didn’t have any parts in stock. Odd! If its all one piece I will just have to change the dash [emoji23]

There’s a lot under there in the way - ventilation, wiring, safety sensors... I’d be very wary. ‘Changing the dash’ would be an epic thing. The whole thing, including the heating system, all the wiring, airbags etc is assembled outside of the car and fed into the body as a complex unit on a robotic arm. It would all need to come out the same way.

Bloody hell. Maybe not then. I guess if I tear the one which is in for breaking apart. I can take measurements and hopefully see what is what and how far I need to cut into the dash. Maybe I’ll just settle for a CD phone mount. I like how it integrates it into the dash.

My 2018 4x4 has the uConnect phone holder. It works - but... it’s overly clunky and visually heavy. It rattles. And, it doesn’t like been used ‘portrait’. Personally, if it wasn’t there, then I’d use on like that in my other car, a Belkin screen mount which is more slender, doesn't vibrate and leaves a clearer view of the road :)
I’ve only taken the Fiat unit out of the dash once, but when I did I could see so much more road! Others will comment on this and may disagree. It’s ‘ok’ but I wouldn’t rush to fit one, personally.

Agree with Herts, it's actually not the nicest thing in the world. It's an annoying source of rattles (especially in a twinair) and it's a bit in the way of the drivers vision. Definitely not worth the money they're asking. Having said that it's handy when I need to use google maps. I dont use the Uconnect app much either because you've gotto exit to use maps, Waze or spotify which defeats the point a bit.

I think I’ll leave it then. I get what you mean about the size of it. It’s very chunky. My Panda is only a daily driver so most of my longer journeys will be done in my other car which has the uConnect 6.5” screen. Thank you for your help anyways.

I am resuming this thread because I need your help. My 2012 Panda with Blu&Me has the holder for the NAV on the dash but it doesn't have the USB charging port near it. I have an USB and AUX socket in the tunnel. I want to change the current holder with one that has also the USB charging socket and I already found it from a dismantled Panda, but I am wondering if there is some additional piece of harness needed to connect the new USB to a suitable power source and related part number or if it is already present in the car. In case I need also the relevant schematic. I cannot find anything online. Thanks in advance

You need to cut a exact hole in the top of your dashboard to fit the docking station for the telephone mount. :D

You can also only mount the docking plug in your dashboard, instead of the hole docking station. ;)
