Hi all,

it's a sad day but my owership of my beloved Bravo is soon to come to an end. The 1.4 MPG is killing my and i just fancy something a little more nippy.

I didn't know if i'd be better off trying to flog my bravo on ebay as is or maybe stripping it for parts then scrapping the rest??

i probably already know the answer but here is some of the details...

it's a 1998 1.4SX
94,000miles
cambelt done at 74,000
2 blue keys
1 red key

Abarth Bumper (was damaged but been repaired) - Genuine Fiat
Abart Skirts - GENUINE Fiat
Rear mud flaps
Abarth Car mats
Marea Headlights
Marea centre console
HLX mk1 alloys (1 brands new, 3 scuffed) tyres all good tread
Rear boot spoiler
K&N air pannel filter

the reason i dont think i could really sell it is:
the fly wheel on the clutch is warped so it judders sometimes when setting off in 1st gear

the front was re sprayed ad looks darker than the doors backwards

the rear wiper motor ticks

and on warm days when i turn the steering wheel it squeeks but doesn't when its cold or rain on the road...weird?)

It'd be sad to break it but i know no-one else would like it with the problems it has and i could bear them. someone looking to buy a car wouldn't think twice would they?

For a minute I thought you were saying that you were getting 1.4 mpg. (i.e. 1.4 miles to every gallon of petrol) :)

That would require some crazy ass driving and probably a hole in your fuel tank too!

it feels like that at times...

stll no opinionson wether better to scrap or sell as is?

Beware the vultures are circling already, and folk will encourage you to break her so they can scavenge. punting it on ebay is relatively easy, but wont make you rich...

Any idea what £££ figure you hope to achieve at the end of the day? Thats what'll determine wether breaking or selling on is your best option.

I was just looking for the best return because although I'm not relying on the money earned for it's sale, the money would help with tax and insurance on my new car.

By the sounds of it breaking is my best option but if I do that then I don't know what parts are generally worth A18NHH

well, for the sake of just a clutch, would it be worth breaking her, she looks damn nice.

how much would u take for the whole car??

Tis a shame to scrap or break her. Get another bravo and swap the bits over. Or just fit a better engine as shaun mentioned, oh and get him to fit it too. ;)

Based in Middlesbrough (North East)

I dmit it i ashame to break her butits not just the cluch, its the squeeky steering and wipre motor.

plus the amount of work to change the engine and being without a car for tha time

even if i swapped the parts to a new car it would costsa fair bit too

I've no idea what i'd want for the whole car- i'd be interested to know what people thought it was worth?

Well theres the mats - the photos make them look more grey than black. only real main wear is to drivrs side one (obvious)

And without trying to seem greedy i'd prob sell to highest bidder to help fund my new car

Small world- i used to be manager at Pizza Hut there (shame on me) until i joined police managemnt accounting earlier this year.

un fortunatly she's gotta go one way or another :(

the 1.4 engine just isn't nippy enough and the MPG is rubbish to say the least

i've tried to have the squeeky steering diagnosed but no1 has any idea why it does it so could cost a fortune

a clutch is £180

and a re-spray toget the ar the same colour all over is £800 ish...

it's just not wort it for a car of it's age me thinks
