Technical Ticking Kinda Noise

Alright folks hows everyone been? Not been on for a while

Anyways last night sitting talking to my mates and my car started making a ticking noise, well kinda ticking noise. After it had stopped the temperature guage had dropped from the middle to between the cold bit and the middle. It wasn't the fan cos i wlda heard that but the ticking sounded like something turning then jamming a bit or catching on something. The cars only done 10.5k miles so sldn't be running with no oil, and if it is reg vardy can replace the engine cos they apparently serviced it and oil changed it before i got it

Was the motor running?

If not its normal, all cars do it, it the metal work in the engine and surrounding parts getting hot, as it gets hot they expand, when they cool the compress, its usually the cooling giving the ticking or clicking sound.
