My car has just joined the 100k club and its mot will be due in the new year. It's just had a new clutch, service and CV joint boots. Is there anything else I need to keep an eye on/look out for/check before MOT? being a complete novice, I'm a bit clueless, so any advice would be useful. It's a 1.2 SX on at March 2000 W plate.

Thanks again!

shocks, balljoints, droplink bushes, clutch slave cylinder, brake pads, disks and pipes, handbrake adjustment. And if all that is ok, i bet he finds a lightbulb thats out ;)

A few of the things you can expect to need done next year if not done already. Hows your cambelt?

Cheers for all the advice guys!

I had the Cambelt changed when I bought it back in Feb. It had done 87k at that point and I have no invoice to prove it had already had one so as a precautionary measure, had it done!

It had failed the last mot before I bought it on Front Brakes, so it had new discs and pads then. The only thing I'm concerned about at the moment, is the suspension. I'll keep an eye on it before the MOT and hope it's okay.

On another note, since the oil has been changed, the fuel economy appears to have dropped a lot. Before hand I was getting 40-42 average, now I'm lucky if I get 35-36. I've also noticed that over thge last few weeks, that when i start the car from cold, it will idle at 2500 for about a minute before dropping. Is that anything to worry about or is that just because of the cold weather? I know very little so hope I don't sound too stupid!

Cheers,

Sean
