Last night my garage was broken into and they took the four 17" alloys I was selling on here, and three brand new Dunlops. They left one Dunlop for some reason (probably no room).
Scum is the only word to describe these people..

I'm going through my house insuance stuff now, I don't see why I shouldn't claim.
Police that came said they did three garages last night in the same street.
We had a light on all night, so they've got some nerve.

Momo Sport 17x7.5 ET40 with Falken 205/40's. Ford four stud fitting, so they will be on an Escort or Focus etc (not off my Stilo, fortunately).
The Dunlops are 15" 185/55 and brand new, never been on a wheel.

When the assessor for your Household insurance comes to assess the loss be nice!. The nicer you are the more chance you have of being able to claim for everything.

And make sure you have the crime reference number from the police when you report the claim. It can cause delays otherwise.

Advertise there death on local forums more like and please have a rethink on garage security to prevent it happening again cos it's been known for theives to return in a little while once the stuffs been replaced and the owners never upgraded locks etc so like before the stuff vanishes.

Best plan...

Look for some little chav car with a nice set of wheels in the next few weeks!

I'll keep my eye open. Local to us, crime like this used to be a real problem, however one gang in particular was picked up and it has been quiet for the last 8 years or so, but maybe this see's a return to a similar situation?

I hope not (n)

Thanks for the advice, and kind words. I'm always nice to people:) and so will be extra nice to the insurance people. Luckily I've got receipts and stuff (the cop was impressed with the photo's) and crime number, so hopefully I'll not end up out of pocket.
I've been in the area three years and this is the first problem of any description I've had. I've heard of the odd burglary, but nowhere is immune these days.
New locks for the garage I think, and I'll just not keep anything in it!
