Proof that letting scum out doesn't work. He shouldn't have been anywhere near a shop given he was tagged for shoplifting! Makes my blood boil.

Couldn't agree more mate. It's been revealed quite recently that several people in the GMP area have simply been cautioned for Sexual Assault. These haven't been against strangers, but nonetheless, you've got to question the philosophy that says we're going to reduce crime and the prison population and the way we're going to prove it is to simply not send people there.

Ergo, if there are less people in prison the Government must be being successful in it's anti-crime policy. The fact the prison population is almost all

You are looking too deeply at this problem.
Our population has risen by a much bigger proportion than our prison capacity.
Many of our new brethren are already criminals in their original country, and also we have many more people physically in the country than oficial figures acknowledge. As many of these invisibles are illegal immigrants then it is hardly surprising that our proportion of criminals to non criminals is rising. In fact it is blindingly obvious. So sentencing policy reflects the need to keep prison numbers down to about 88000 (I think). No more scientific than that I'm afraid.

I woke yesterday to see several GMP Tactical vans parked outside my house at 4.30am. They delivered a team of stab vested, armed hard men.It seems they were having "a chat" next door where a young man lives as part of a drugs operation. You have to admit when they turn up like that those guys get my respect. At one time the Tactical Aid Group (TAG) would almost never wear hi-vis coats. It became the stuff of legend that when called to a Pub fight in Salford when sirens were heard, if the Bobbies got out of the van wearing yellow, the fight would continue; if they were wearing black the fight would usually peter out pretty quickly. This stems from their habit of wading straight in and often instead of using batons and CS spray, they'd just go in and fight. The sight of some of the original combatants leaving the building via the windows, without touching the sides, was one of the reasons they were so successful.

The vans had grilles on the windows, which were popularly believed to be to keep the Cops in, rather than keeping projectiles out. It's still believed in the force that the Politically Correct masters of the Force watered down the effectiveness of the group by changing its hame to Tactical Aid Unit (TAU), less aggressive you see. Having worked with a number of ex-TAG Officers, they all relished their time with the Group and said there's nothing like the rush you get going into life or death situations.

A few months ago, I was with a group of these lads who were talking about the good old days. We were all in an area of the Airport that is seldom used, for an exercise when the boys decided to have a laugh and formed up at the bottom of a wide staircase in 2 lines abreast. They then charged up at "attack speed" and with a group "Banzai" yell burst through the doors into the corridor at the top. There was a high pitched scream and a crash. By a coincidence, a female cleaner was using the corridor as a short cut!!!! Oops.

He told me that one time they get a bit fed up with their "fastrack" graduate sergeant holding the door open for them when they turned up at pub fights with an "after you lads" comment. So at the next shout they "accidentally" turfed him in first, and then had a spot of trouble following him in. They said the look of sheer panic on his face when he realised he was on his own was priceless.

All very valid points , these little scroats that get their early morning little chat -as previously described , should be MADE to serve with the poor buggers who have to deal with ****s like them,perhaps the light may dawn on marble head!! , as for our the pervs-brand them on the forhead with a big 'P' and let them out for the 'public' to deal with-they'l soon stop being a problem to kids and decent people-sorry to any fireman reading if the 'torch perving scum' idea makes you busier than normal(f**k em , let em burn) , illegal immigrants -you do a crime just to get banged up so you can stay here,,,,,instant deportation-problem solved ,Both ideas helping with overcrowding in the country,in prison,and less scum scrounging benefits.

Danngp , they get done so they can be banged up then sue us for unlawful arrest because they are here illegally , so technicallaly their not offically in the country,and under eu law thats wrongful arrest/detainment and they know it -worst part is these scroungers come here from whatever s***hole they were dropped in thru germany,spain,france and get ushered thru so they dont have to keep em and they wind up on my/your doorstep -eu law states they MUST claim residence in the 1st eu country they set foot in - so they fasttrack em to the euro border so they can get here to Blighty.-i feel all warm n fuzzy inside now ,must be bcause im paying their bills for em or is it the nausea rising. we've got enough of our own scum to try n sort out let alone the likes of them too.:bang:

Been off work for a few days, but don't work on the "J" anyway. Whereabouts did it happen? We had a raid on a canabis farm in the street opposite where we live. Unfortunately another gang got there before the Cops and took away most of the plants and all the lights 24 hours before the raid. DOH!

The subject of Graduate Entry is a bit of a moot point. There is a Sergeant who's just been promoted to Inspector at the age of 30, despite having two periods of maternity leave and having been on Jobshare for the last two years. Each time she's come back after maternity leave she's been put into a different department and is now able to tick all the right boxes. It's a shame she's never been a patrol Sergeant and is now shouting up all the time on the radio for people to do things when they've already done it so I'm told.

How do think the magistrates and judges feel? Courts take a lot of care to impose the correct sentence in accordance with the guidelines and take into account all the individual characteristics of the case. Then the government tells the prisons to let them out early.

No mate , the police have been told by the powers that be they are not allowed to arrest illegals , unless they are breaking the law. The illegals must be instructed that they must attend a designated immigration centre,one in peterbourough and one down south ,the police cannot detain them just for being illegal as its aggainst their 'civil liberties' even more so if their country of origin is a member of the EU.
Personally-deport the lot of em, and as a white,taxpaying voter straight away im racist,and my opinion counts for nothing-so people like you and me cant say f**k all but we can vote BNP. So in futuer tell the politicians on £100,000+ a year thats its b*****ks and not me pal .

Um, where did you get this information from? Can you back it up with legitimate and verifiable sources? Also, if an immigrant's country of origin is a member of the EU then they are allowed to enter any other EU member country so they're hardly illegal if they're here in the UK.

What about all the "non white" taxpaying voters in the UK? What about those "non whites" that were born here and are British Citizens by birth? By all means make comments that suggest illegal immigrants be deported, of which myself and many others will support this view. However, promoting racism and suggesting voting for the BNP to tackle the problem is a very backwards step to take.

Lastly, you do realise that JohnW works in the legal profession and knows about the laws that are applied in the UK? Are you connected with the UK justice/ legal profession at all?

It is true that a lot of them are put on the train to the nearest immigration holding centre but illegal immigrants are arrested every day of the week, by police and immigration officials and some are taken to court.

There is free movement of workers throughout the EU. So an EU citizen isn't an illegal immigrant.
