oz's for the win tbf

that was my original thought untill i saw the mak volares and how similar they are also the mak's are a lot cheaper so its all to do with how patient i can be when it comes to saving up for my wheels.

i dont really want to spend much more than about £600-650 but may stretch a bit if i find something i really like.

IMO if you're going to spend more than a few hundred quid on some alloys you go for the real thing. Otherwise you go for cheap replica's...what's the point in paying a hundred or so less than the real thing for some replica's when you can pay like 2/3 hundred for a decent set of replica's?

well said T!

Advert's for light's tend to be over exposed to make them look better, the 'bright' purple ones tend to end up pink unless you go for UV lights which are hit and miss imho.

Locking wheel nuts should protect your alloy's and don't cost the earth either, if you get a set and put 1 nut on each wheel you'd be doing the sensible thing (I have seen a set per wheel used!)

ive already got the purple leds they aren't massively bright but brighter than the standard interior lights and are very purple.

thats what i was telling my ma. what gain is there in ahving a full set per wheel against one per wheel?

might as well put ford badges on it if your gonna do purple badges

stick with fiat red badges or abarth ones if u want summat different :)

nar black and purple for the win,
abarth and red fiat badges have been done to many times already. plus they wont keep with my black and purple theme.

also then my GP will be unique as no-ones done black and purple yet but everyones already done: all black, black and blue and black and red.

fords are good for one thing scrap yards and dull people.

Shouldn't this thread be back in GP-->Styling

na people just start being pricks when i have a thread in there so never again.

plus i have done (although small) 3 mods. purple interior light, brakelight cover, ipod input lead and i have purple footwell leds to fit.

a lot of people have been saying that. its not i dont believe them its purely i have found there are quite a few different companies doing various springs for the gp. e.g
Eibach Sportline Springs, Eibach Pro-Kit Springs, Cobra Lowering Springs, APEX Springs and PI Lowering Springs to name a few.

and the cheapest ones i have found are the APEX springs for
£91.12 (inc VAT)
Delivery £ 9.95

against the EIbach Sportline springs for
Our Price:
£133.57 (inc VAT)
Delivery £ 8.95.

so was curious as to which the best are performance wise and which are the best value.

Sorry, missed this one earlier:

Difference between the Eibach Pro Kit and the Sportlines is the drop amount. Sportlines drop the car by more...and as your car is higher in the first place the sportlines are definately the one's to go for.

In my experience it is best to not skimp on anything that is as important as suspension. I know people who have used many different makes of springs to lower their car...the others (including the one's that you have named) have made the ride alot worse, alot more severe, damaged the handling and also damaged the standard equipment on the car.

Now i'm not trying to plug the Sportlines because I have them...but myself along with many other people picked the Eibach's because we believe that they are the best. Yes they're more money but they're designed to work in conjunction with your standard suspension without damaging it. Also they improve the ride quality and the handling of the car by a million percent. Now feel free to order the other cheaper springs and see how you get on but tbf that's 80 quid towards the sportlines and at least with them you know wat you're getting. If these APEX one's turn out to be utter ****e then you've just wasted your money.

It's up to you mate but i'd rather put something that's tried tested and I know is going to be perfect on my car, especially when you're messing with such vital components! (y)

probs will get sportlines then. not yet though as cars stil under warranty (that and my ma would like it).

you said you would fit them for us an all?:D
my cars in warrenty and i've done it...put um on anyway, bet you a million quid your parents can't even tell lol. and it's highly unlikely that your suspension is going to go wrong within the warrenty period anyway mate!

yeah i don't mind (y) be worth it if it means we get to see you do a mod! :p

just a little question (i know off topic but will bring it back after) out of all the mods i could do which ones should i definately do

Well, since its an active it needs lowering/alloys more than anything id say.

Just noticed lowering isnt on your list! Hmmm may look a little silly then ;)

alloys is what im hoping for next but as only get £100 a month will me saving for a bit(which i crap at)

ill have to look into the lowering ive seen other gps on here lowered and it does look better.

i dont want to go over board or at least not yet. for two reasons:
  1. still under warranty
  2. my ma has signed the gp over to me yet and wont if she thinks ill do something like that:mad:
ah well theres always another day:)

you say lowering it improves the ride quality?
i know this may sound a bit cheeky (sorry:eek:) but ill have to go in someones gp and decide for myself as i certainly dont want it any worse :)shakehead:) not that the ride is crap or anything but it could be better.

apparently the duff ride is due to the standard pirrelli's.
