to be honest though, I used to be on 6mb down 1mb up prior to fibre at home, and the only real difference is downloading/uploading large files - obviously.
Unless you're running a data centre, it's not all that important to me.

Those speeds are in a speedtest not real world applications. They shape your traffic based on their current network loads / usage patterns.
this is from my rented server testing to a server in skipton this was a test to Namesco in London
I also use speedtest.bbmax.co.uk for testing at work, i ran a cheeky one on my server same as above here is a link to the results
