Mine do, but I'd rather have 20mb cable than 2mb ADSL provided by Talk Talk. lol.
I'd rather have 512k ADSL than GPRS, which I swear is slower than 56k sometimes ...

It is in a lot of areas. You need to get onto Edge, 3G, HSDPA to get a usable connection IMO.
I sometimes get EDGE in the flat, very rarely 3G, even a 1min YouTube clip takes about 10 minutes to load, it's ridiculous.

Have you not got a smartphone you can piggy back onto with it's hotspot? When I need to I use my HTC Sensation and I place the phone on charge and place it where it's got best signal. I can get over 7mbit in certain areas on orange .

Yes, but it's still slow - as I say, connection to EDGE/3G is sporadic so GPRS is the best I can get reliably, and the speed is mind-numblingly slow...

Yeah I think GPRS maxes out (in full signal) at around 33.6-48kbits .

I wonder if there's an app that makes your phone make 'dial-up' style noises when connecting to the mobile network :chin: that'd be cool

lol - it's fun remembering back to the good ole days. Basic HTML webpages that loaded up fast on 56k .

Connecting for free, using hacked usernames/passwords found on newsgroups/IRC and having to reconnect every couple of hours to make sure you didn't get charged for the call ... ahh, those were the days

Yeah I used IC24 (it was free 0800 but used banner adds to pay for it) Which I blocked with a script / ad blocker .
