I got an RAC one from Argos a while back, works a treat. I assume you mean a mains powered one rather than a portable booster?

Yus, i have a portable booster already and it didnt work.
those cheap boosters all seem pants
any i have tried have failed
what are you looking to do?
just the very rare use or regular recharges?

Portable one is ok if the battery still has a bit of charge in it but mines completely dead so doesnt really do anything. Will just be for rare use as hopefully will be able to use my car again soon.

check your local gumtree site,often get chargers on there
you will get cheap ones on eBay
last cheap one i got was low power but did the job for a charge once a year

I dont mind buying a decent one tbh as it will probably get used a couple of times a year be it on mine or my dads cars.
some of them boosters need 1.5 volt in battery or they dont turn on, my halfords one was like that. you need to go machine mart or a factors and get bead battery starting one

It was turning on as the clocks came on just wasnt enough there to get it turning over.

But i've lost the key, will another mcguard key remove them? or will I need a removing kit, and then, what kit would I need?

Time to bang an old socket onto it - old and rusty ones are great for this, whack it on with a lump hammer and then you can undo the nut.
Will that work? Because the bolts are smooth cylinders at the top.
