A grant is a grant. It is just there to aid you while at uni. AKA spunk it up the wall on stuff. It is given to people whos parents are below a certain income level as it is percieved that these people will recieve less financial help off parents while at uni than there counterparts that have wealthier parents.

It's just like EMA I guess. I wish I got that £30 a week would easily pay for insurance and petrol. You get it if one of your parents is dead too though.

I was just talking to a friend who is at huddersfield Uni and he gets a grant for doing Autmotive Engineering (same as me). £3000 a year, £900 a term.
Apparently you get it as there isn't enough engineers or something like that. That will be a nice litttle bonus.
