Not got anything to sell :(

Taken from Lock Stock!

Tom: Listen to this one then; you open a company called the Arse Tickler's Faggot Fan Club. You take an advert in the back page of some gay mag, advertising the latest in arse-intruding dildos, sell it a bit with, er... I dunno, "does what no other dildo can do until now", latest and greatest in sexual technology. Guaranteed results or money back, all that ********. These dills cost twenty-five each; a snip for all the pleasure they are going to give the recipients. They send a cheque to the company name, nothing offensive, er, Bobbie's Bits or something, for twenty-five. You put these in the bank for two weeks and let them clear. Now this is the clever bit. Then you send back the cheques for twenty-five pounds from the real company name, Arse Tickler's Faggot Fan Club, saying sorry, we couldn't get the supply from America, they have sold out. Now you see how many of the people cash those cheques; not a single soul, because who wants his bank manager to know he tickles arses when he is not paying in cheques!
Bacon: So how long do you have to wait for a return?
Tom: Probably no more than four weeks.
Bacon: Well what good is that if we need it in six... no, five days?
Tom: Well it was still a good idea.

I'm picking up my new Punto Evo from the dealer next Wed/Thur. They've asked me to go in to see them at the weekend to go through some FSA stuff...( Even though I'm paying cash!) and to pay in full as well. Is this standard practice?

Yeah, they have to go through crap and tell you about GAP insurance etc, and get you to sign to say they've told you about it and your rights even if you decide you don't want it. Had same from a Vauxhall dealer when buying the Stilo used.

Ahhh I see, Cheers for that... So im getting up early on Saturday to part with £11500 and sign something to say I don't want it and then getting nothing in return lol

Never had this gap insurance lark when I got my last car off jamjar... Those were the days. *sigh*. ;)

i'd advise getting gap insurance, maybe not through a dealer but get it from some where

My insurance is with direct line and as part of my policy it already includes paying out the full value if I write the car off within the first year... Am not too worried about what happens after a year, otherwise where do u draw the line? Thoughts anyone?!!

Oh...meant to ask... Is it standard to pay in full several days before seeing/ getting the car? Cheers!

check what pay full value means because it could mean full value of your car not another new one, your cars value will drop as soon as its registered to you, they may only pay that value

But it won't in years after.

I personally would refuse to pay in full until car is there, you've inspected it and are ready to drive it off.

Then just pay on your debit card when you collect it.

Been having a look into gap insurance, think I may well go for this after all! There a good thread on moneysavingexpert forum if anyone's interested. Just gotta decide which deal to go for now...
