Hello there, My 500 diesel, imported form Italy, came without a radio code card. And yes you guess correctly, due to an electrical problem I now need to enter the code. Can you help me?

Radio code needed please!
Hello,
I'm in the RAF in the Falkland Islands and are wagon has been in for repair for a while. We got it back from the Army but they've left the battery off for too long and the radio needs a four digit code. However, the Army don't store/hold/write down any codes for any vehicles. Is there a way I could get a code for our radio please?
It's a Blaupunkt: 7 640 373 316 or Fiat: 735 324 397 0

Doesn't want to play ball.
Says 'check', 'code' then prompts with '----'. Enter 4222 as advised, but then says 'wait'. With the Canbus connector disconnected it stops on 'check', so the canbus check appears to working ok.
Any suggestions? Apologies if this is the wrong place to post. If it is where should I repost?

Just checked it again, 4222 is the correct code for the serial number you've posted. Check your serial number again, and repost if you've made a mistake.
If the display shows " WAIT ", you need to leave the radio and ignition switched on for up to 2 hours or until it shows " CODE " then " - - - - " then enter the code using the corresponding preset buttons.
If the display is showing " CHECK " (as opposed to " CANCHECK "), it means you are trying to fit the radio into a different vehicle to the one it was originally fitted to. This would need to be cleared and the code reset at a radio workshop. A previous owner may have had this procedure carried out already, which could explain why the code no longer matches the serial number.

Tried a couple of times, but same problem. The unit is a Mid being fitted into a Punto Sporting, not the original one, but should be compatible. It certainly looks like the code has been changed. I'll ring round the local places and see if I can get it reset again for a reasonable amount.
