A bit in the distance but impatient Audi nearly takes out a right-turning van.

Spotted these three Fords in convoy. A nice site on an otherwise long and boring journey home. :D

Two of my favourite cars. No sound unfortunately.

Here is my first video with my new dash cam - Transcend Pro 200 - really good quality for the price :)

What do you think of this guy - Audi driver flew around the roundabout and overtook me last Saturday - certainly could've been a lot worse if someone had been turning into the petrol station...

I see absolutely not problem with what he's done, safe and legal over take. What was your problem with it, or just the fact that you've been overtaken?

Unfortunately I don't have a rear view camera - which would have shown how quickly he took the roundabout - and as there are roadworks coming up further down the road it just wasn't the type of manoeuvre I was expecting. I have no problems with people wanting to overtake, but do it in the right place - also not a good place to overtake with the turning into the petrol station.

Think I am going to need to buy a second camera :)

You cant cross over hatchings though - and he was using an oncoming turning lane todo the same

Its not safe overtake in my eyes

Highway code says you should not - as often its there to protect an oncoming lane for turning

Areas of white diagonal stripes or chevrons painted on the road. These are to separate traffic lanes or to protect traffic turning right.

  • If the area is bordered by a broken white line, you should not enter the area unless it is necessary and you can see that it is safe to do so.
  • If the area is marked with chevrons and bordered by solid white lines you MUST NOT enter it except in an emergency.

Personally for me - i wouldn't unless its no other option

There was clearly no-one turning though!

and as there are roadworks coming up further down the road

Which are not visible so not really relevant tbh.

Yes you can, re-read your HWC quote, there is no solid while line and it was perfectly safe to do what they done.

The road was wide and open and most importantly clear. Absolutely nothing wrong with what they done in the video.

As to what they may or may not have done before on-one knows as there is no video footage unfortunately, and as such we can only go on what we see.

Dubious overtake. Saved by the farm thingy slowing down the traffic.

I don't normally comment on dashcam vids as they are far too subjective but I agree with the OP on this, there was no good reason to overtake there and given the proximity of a garage and several junctions it could have ended in tears... just pushy impatient driving.

This... thing.
