Yeah gave them plenty of room so as not to put them under any pressure, always do with learner's, van driver wasn't looking ahead of me to see why I was holding back.
Yea the back camera likes to move around a bit lol

I'm glad I replaced the brakes last week.

As soon as I see a car approaching like that I always assume they're gonna do something stupid. Helped me avoid many accidents, which might have ended badly had I just kept on going without slowing down and being ready to stop (if I have right of way)

I guess it's one of the (few) benefits of spending so many years driving in Bradford, I'm used to **** drivers doing stupid things

I hope bar camera videos are acceptable. ;)

Bloody hell, that engine's lacking if it can't make it up that slope. I'd also get your shock absorbers checked as well, your car's wallowing like a sick pig.

This chap pulled out of a blind driveway taking all of the footpath. No issue there but he looked straight at me and continued on to the road. I almost think this guy drove at me intentionally but chances are he either failed to see me, failed to notice I was doing over 20mph and thought he'd have enough time to pull out or is just an idiot.

Given his choice of vehicle I'm more convinced of the latter.

Still nice of him to do such a poor job overtaking later. I would have shrugged my shoulders and thought "we all make mistakes" but that maneuver was the straw.

lets see how much abuse i get this time, another jogger, this time i stop as jogger is running at my car and there is a car coming the other way, its dark enough for cars to put lights on but jogger is all in black in the road when there is a path on the other side, she does not step onto the verge until she reaches my car that has had to stop so not to run her over! she also is wearing headphones.

she returns a little later going the other way but on the path

First of all well done for stopping.

And I partly agree with you, there was a wide enough pavement for her to use and she should have been on it.

Did i do the right thing?

Looks like you done the wrong thing in breaking IMO, just before it disappears from view the front end of his car nose dives as he appears to slam on realising he won't make it. You then slam on also, rather than continuing, which could have resulted in an accident.

Don't get me wrong, he was a knob, and would have been 100% to blame for any collision, but imo you should have just carried on without changing your speed and slaming on the brakes like that.

I'd say regardless of wrong or right, I'd have done the same in the scenario.

Braked as you saw him pass, move over to give him space so no crash was has. The fact he braked is irrelevant.

Definitely a knob driving that Volvo.

I would say you didn't do anything wrong, you followed the road markings merged appropriately at the first set of lights, you left the right hand lane open and did nothing to obstruct progress, maybe at the second merge you could have been a little more defensive and positioned yourself slightly to the right to mark your place in the road, but I'm not sure that would have made any difference. I don't think I would have done anything different, and you avoided a collision so I don't see any issues other than him driving like a prat.
