I had exactly the same thing happen the other day!! I've had it happen before as well but not recently.

I was following a mondeo, they were doing just a tad below the speed limit so i didnt really have any major gripe. I noticed there was another car infront of the mondeo in the distance (about 100 meters ahead so a fair distance). I get really OCD about cars not 'closing the gap', eventually the road split into dual carriageway so i thought this is a good place to safely overtake. As soon as the mondeo driver sees this their foot is to the floor and they try and close the gap between him and the car infront of him and not let me back in! ffffing tool!

I did think I could have over reacted. The car hit the straight and went for it, but it was when I was three quarters past the guy looked in the mirror and ducked his head down I knew he was being a pillock.

My Panda would have struggled a bit but the Punto had no problem. ;)

My sister had this but the man wouldn't let her back in! Behind or in front, kept speeding up or slowing, she ended up stopped on the other carriageway, luckily he drive off.

Only just missed, although my mirror was folded back (that's my car BTW).

I can never understand why these cretins decide they have to go for the gap though - all they have to do is carry on round the roundabout & then exit as normal.

Funny thing is, though. Watching it back, I notice some other muppet doing the same thing (coming down the wrong lane because it's empty)& following this guy too closely, they almost end up going into the back of the lorry.:D

I often wonder if employers actually give a toss about how their employees drive - given the number of drivers that do stupid things in marked vehicles plus the number of drivers I have reported to companies & I never hear anything back...
