I almost got run over by a Waitrose lorry a couple of weeks ago. He was driving down the wrong side of a long traffic island, at speed, in an HGV.... I was crossing and I don't normally look left as the traffic is one way from the right....Next thing there's the side of a speeding HGV passing in front of my eyes! 
I emailed and complained and got the following reply:
"Thank you for your email. I’m sorry to learn of your experience and am grateful to you for letting me know about it.
I’ve passed your comments on to the branch management team.
Thank you again for taking the trouble to tell me about this. Your experience certainly doesn’t reflect the high standards we aim to achieve. I apologise for the inconvenience caused and we will make sure that this type of incident does not occur again."
Sounds like a standard response to me, but at least they responded....
