Why should cyclist have given way? looked like no-one had priority to me, and like you'd have fitted anyway...?

Because cyclists don't pay road tax (for their bike), there was a double dotted line on their side of the gap (you can see it at 1 min 30 sec, but more importantly they are soft and squidgy and tend to come off worse in a collision with a car ;)

I'll have to rewatch it, was only quickly at work, and got dizzy with all the bouncing lol.

EDIT: Just rewatched it, scrub my last post questioning write of way :/

Well, technically, neither do motorists.
Try telling my wallet that :p ;) :bang: I may have a TA now (£0) but the last car was £470 to tax and the wife's car is around the £130 mark.
And I do like your last comment
As an (very) occasional road cyclist (I prefer off road tracks like the Ridgeway), I work on the principal that all motorists want to kill/maim me and ride accordingly. (y)

I always used to cycle to work, 3.5 miles across town, but after getting knocked off twice, I left the mangled bike & decided the car would be best.
On both occasions I was knocked off by motorists who CBA to wait a second or so for me to pass a junction - they overtook & then cut me up.

Interestingly, despite the second attempt on my life happening at peak time with nose to tail traffic all around, not one person stopped to help or come forward as witness(n)

Just what we need....Another person perpetuating the myth about 'road tax'.... (n) By your reckoning, pedestrians, horses and drivers of any tax-exempt vehicle are all fair game too then?

I know it's easy to joke about it, but that's exactly why people should be more aware of cyclists. It's easy to feel nice and safe in the metal box. but having ridden the 20+ mile journey home for the last two days, it's kinda ironic that the nearest miss came from a Mk1 Punto that almost clipped me on an open stretch of pretty wide main road....

If only we got the same level of respect as horses do....

Just think they guy on the bike may have been doing 30 ish ,, how you expenct him to stop as fast as you .. Plus you could of just lifted of the gas slighly and all would of been fine , as by looks of it he was in the middle of the road and started comeing though before you got your road position right

EDIT . got a couple videos to put up , can i just put them stright on youtube? or do i need a movie maker thinggy

Get over yourself, this was said as a joke as indicated by the . I know how precious some bike riders get and decided to wind them up, you were the one that bit (y)

That wasn't a joke  the problem is that everyone thinks that they have a right to do what they want, as a bicycle rider I would (as posted above) treat everyone else on the road as if they are out to kill me, that is not because I feel I am an interloper on the road but more the fact I want to stay alive. I also obey the rules of the road as if I'm in a car, far to often you see bike riders jumping red lights because otherwise they would have to slow down, cycling up the inside of slow moving traffic and even riding on the pavement to avoid blockages.

I think a ;) would have suggested better that you were joking....A  could easily be perceived as you gaining mischevious pleasure from your stated fact....

Again, by putting a ;) at the end, you give the impression that it was....

There's a very good article about the science behind cyclist-hate....Check it out (y)

Pop up to Sainsbury's, pinch a trolley and stick yer Mum in that...problem solved :p
