No, we were out playing.

The driver of the flipped boat was driving one for the second time ever, and they can bite back if you do something you shouldn't.

It was mostly the co pilots fault as he didn't lean into the turn enough (it's like sidecar racing) and his legs gave way with all the weight then rapidly transferring to the outside.
He broke his foot actually and his brother the driver (our harbourmaster) hasn't heard the last of it since!

@Ziggy send your taxi video to your local taxi licencing authority. They would love your evidence to use as a big stick to beat the driver with. Part of the conditions of his badge is that he adheres to the highway code ;)

You are havin' a giraffe.

I have sent no end of YT vids to AVDC - then one day, a mate happened to ask about a specific video - I asked how he knew (seeing as he'd no idea of my YT username etc) & he told me his OH was doing a stint in the taxi office & they were all gathered round a monitor, laughing at the vid & making sarky comments. Seems that as long as the taxi driver is 'from a different culture' (and let's face it, 90% of them are round here) , licensing will do nothing about their apalling standards.

In fact, the OH had a problem a few years back, one of them ran into the back of her.
The driver barely spoke a word of English, the OH had to write all his details (car reg, company) yet he didn't seem to know simple English words -"name", "address".
The company later denied it was their driver/car.
The company never reported the accident to AVDC.
AVDC's own Ts &Cs clearly state 'drivers should speak English, all accidents MUST be reported to them...
Not to mention the latest fiasco with a certain taxi firm (who claim to be just booking agents - and use a load of cabs licensed in Rutland!) whereby AVDC oh so conveniently 'lost' important files & so had to stop procedings (n)

Got another here.

You may have seen this on the 500 section?
I was driving home from work, came across a stricken BMW X3.
He'd just driven through a puddle and hydrolocked his motor.

He was towed out by a merc.

They said 'go back, it's impassible! My engines ruined'
I replied ' please move your merc, I wish to pass'

Eventually he moves the car and they both stare with contempt as I pass.

I must admit I was thinking of serious egg on face if my motor did stop.

flooded road

if posting in car videos to youtube it is advisable to either record with the radio off or remove the audio before you up load it, dosn't make a huge difference but sometimes YouTube's intellectual property protection systems kick in and you can find it picks out the radio music as protected content and they can post a Copyright notice against your account or block your video in certain countries in either case you lose your rights to the video and youtube will post adverts all over your content and you'll not get a penny.

do it too much and you can find your account blocked from posting your own adverts so you'll not earn anything from your videos if that is your plan.

Best to keep things clean and simple. plenty of creative commons music you can use and post on your videos to cover your ass

worth bearing in mind

Cheers for the advice!

All music dubbed is open to public use, the radio on the other 2 was quiet in the cab but the cam picked it up as very loud?

Ill take note and dub over from now or kill the tunes, what do you think to the intro logo? I'm not sure on it

I've been using youtube for about 7 years now in one form or another so was well aware of the tools they use to pick out music, I uploaded a video last year dash cam job, about a month later got a warning pop up a song had been detected in the video, went back an could hear very very quietly a song playing on the radio, i couldn't actually hear what it was but YouTube had picked it out

if it is open use make sure you keep links and details handy so if they do dispute it you can quickly and easily appeal

Post it with no sound and invite people to sing along to their favourite song as they watch :p

3 from yesterday - within the space of about half hour.

I included the last one really out of amazement. Woman in the white ford seems to 'bully' her way forward, forcing the woman in the 4x4 to reverse - badly!
The layout of the road says to me that priority should be given to oncoming vehicles.

Very bad positioning from the Ford as they approached the narrow section....

And as is typical of a lot of motorists today, there was no way they were going to reverse, even though it looks like they were in the wrong.... (n)
