Give way to the right though

That was just confusion because the driver entering saw sludgy and stopped but didn't look around and see that he was being held by the car turning infront of him. Its the age old problem of lack of observation. They could have been long gone before sludgy entered the roundabout. They probably stopped at the worst possible point aswell as they were neither on or off the roundabout, just causing an obstruction.

Give way to the right though

give way to traffic on the roundabout coming from the right, before that rule is rule 84 adjust your speed and position to fit in with traffic conditions, in other words slow down let people already joining the roundabout ahead of you finish their maneuver(sp?), not keep at same speed (or speeding up)preventing traffic flow

True, yet you shouldn't join the roundabout if its going to obstruct someone or cause their path / velocity to deviate.

A catch 22 I suppose, suppose its why it seems to always get deemed as 50/50 for roundabout knocks (n)

For me, it was just a WTF? moment.
At 0.33s, he's sat with his nose already over the line as the car (in front of me) goes past him.

In this situation, the majority of normal drivers would use the car turning right (across my path) to 'protect' them as they also turn right - just as the black car turning right is using the car ahead of me.

Instead, the guy waits forever - he allows the car to my 'right' to go around and exit the roundabout before making his move - by this time, it's too late as I am now free to go & will take my cue to move before the next car comes down from my right.
On these mini roundabouts, you really cannot dither - especially around here at peak times - else you'll be sat there forever.

These mini roundabouts really are a daft idea TBH & are the cause of many accidents.
Many drivers assume that, because their road is the main road (like the one I was on), then they have some sort of right of way over cars coming out of side roads - amazing the number of drivers I see hitting these things at top speed (just before hitting something emerging from the side road).
You also get a situation whereby three cars hit the lines at the same time - each one giving way to the car on their right & so all sitting there looking at each other, waiting for someone to go.

Might have a couple more to put up from today, if i can remember the times!
Two things that stick out like a sore thumb from today's driving though, was the number of cars not showing dipped beam - despite the torrential rain.
And the number of vehicles driving too fast & too close.
(At one point, I had a car so close behind me that all I could see in the Fresnel lens was the windscreen & roof - which means the bonnet was within 3 feet .
Even though I went through EVERY muddy puddle at the side of the road  & the idiot had his wipers on max, he still didn't pull back.:tosser:)
OK, so visibility wasn't bad & despite the heavy rain, the day was actually light (some rainy days are dull & gloomy).
Why do people assume that because they can see well enough ahead that they have no need for lights?
If I drop off at the side of the road, I have to use my door mirrors to see if it's safe to pull out, as they are covered in droplets of rain, an unlit car is, for all intents and purposes, invisible.
When I pull out from a side road, my nearside windows are misted &. covered in rain - again, impossible to see out - I had the vents blowing full on but it hits a small side window which only allows a view of the NS mirror, there is a thick door pillar preventing the vents from blowing over the door glass

Looks to me like he was using the Audi to protect himself but might have stalled.

Nah, If you look closely, I start rolling as the back end of the car passes me - he also starts rolling at this point.
I wasn't booting it off the line so stopped & gestured for him to go.
There was no point me pressing on since I would have had to steer right out of my way to go round him. He didn't have time to restart the engine.

I must admit - the number of people with
Lights out
Light clusters out
Headlights shooting pidgeons and my retina's
Not having the correct lights on
Driving with fog lights on in dusk conditions with headlights
Driving with fogs and sidelights instead of normal headlights..... wtf?

blown headlight bulb.
Rather they didnt dazzle me tho

Its better to given a VDRS on a blown bulb rather then been given a FPN for driving with fogs in in non foggy conditions....

Directing aircraft :D

I wondered while driving on them long straight roads that this sort of thing keeps happening :chin:

They had just dropped someone off and had to do a bit of shopping before they went home?

Not as funny as your explanation but just as plausible :D. :p

Nah. They do live there.
It was mother & (young) son in the car. Only thing I can think is that they are going out somewhere & popped into the Co-op for sweets (?) - she drove straight at the parking spaces in front of the door, abandoned the car & went in (my passenger was watching her as I slowly negotiated the corner :D

I mean to say, I love driving etc but even I would walk that distance rather than start/stop/start the car like that.

My previous best was a woman who picked up her little darling from Whitchurch combined school, loaded said kid into the back of a range rover & drove off (pulling out in front of me, without looking!). She turned left towards whitchurch & then pulled into a driveway a little way down the road.
I think that only just beat the mum who drove her 4x4 from Adams garage to the broughton Jr school:bang:
