if everyone who videoed a bad bit of driving sent it to the police it would take up way too much of their time. stick to putting them on youtube
I tend to agree, sadly.
However, when you have really good officers with shedloads of experience being retired through some reason other than age, I often wonder if, instead of wasting all that experience, those officers could be given the task of reviewing driving vids & actioning them - this work could be home-based (since the vids could all be submitted online, maybe a special police channel on youtube?).
The person submitting said vids could be sent an email "we appreciate the guy in front was a total *** however, on this occasion..." OR - "thanks for the vid, we will be taking action...". Even if the idiot gets a fine for their stupidity, we could maybe get a small reward based on a percentage of the fine & the rest of the money could go to funding this police unit's work - paying wages, sending out fines, even educational work.
Being rewarded for vids would encourage more widespread use of cameras & the word would go out that EVERYONE now potentially works for the police - so, in theory, driving standards might improve?
