Getting to be a regular thing for me now. I'm limited to 60mph - so that's the speed I'm doing.
I have no problem whatsoever with cars wanting to pootle along at 55mph - but do have a problem when they decide to speed up as I overtake.

This guy speeds up so I pull in behind him, he then goes a bit faster to put a gap between us - then slows enough to allow me to catch up & start to overtake.
As I said, no problem with car drivers wanting to pootle along - but I don't want to be stuck behind them.
Sadly, the crappy cam doesn't do a good job of capturing the number plate.

What a knob, I often get people speeding up as I overtake too :bang:

Wonder if you can hand over footage on a DVD at the local cop shop?

Probably could but I suspect they would file it under b1n - in this instance the footage isn't clearly showing the reg.

Had one the other year whilst taking a group of disabled kids on an outing.
Old boy pootling along in lane 2 of 4. Again, I'm flat out at 60 in lane 1.
lanes 3 & 4 are heaving so no chance of going that way round so I simply carried on.
As I drove past, one of the staff commented how the old boy was also drinking his costa coffee (or similar takeaway).
A short while later, he zooms past, his wife is waving her fist & obviously shouting obscenities. He then cuts me up & slows down to 50  (braking).
As I went to overtake, he sped up so I had to pull back.
On my second attempt, one of the staff wrote "I'm calling 999" (on the back of my log sheet) & held it to the bottom window of my side door so the old boy could read it as I drew level.
He obviously got the message that the testimony of him & his wife wouldn't stand a chance against that of a dozen witnesses & myself.
Sadly, the only spare cam I had was my T-eye which also recorded inside & I didn't feel it was appropriate to use as I had young, disabled, kids on board.

Is there a particular law against it?

Read your highway code - it's there for a reason.

Being overtaken. If a driver is trying to overtake you, maintain a steady course and speed, slowing down if necessary to let the vehicle pass. Never obstruct drivers who wish to pass. Speeding up or driving unpredictably while someone is overtaking you is dangerous. Drop back to maintain a two-second gap if someone overtakes and pulls into the gap in front of you.

What would happen if I noticed my back end was clear of this nob & so decided it was safe to pull back into lane - just as he decides he is going to floor it & not let me pass?
I was maintaining my top speed, this idiot clearly decides he is not going to let me in front - twice
It would be very easy for the red mist to descend & simply sideswipe this nob off the road.

done this in the past
You drop back further out of sight - then once a few moments has passed, you hop into the outside lane again
Spring out the middle of nowhere and overtake him

Kinda like that chav at the lights who wants to keep racing you - you disappear, and then before he's knows it your in front :)
