No because he pulled along side and started mouthing off because I was apparently in his way.

I'm not a public servant doing a job with 60 customers on board though ;)

If he loses his temper like that who will be next? A customer who he assaults?

Didn't last time I reported a driver, actually got prosecuted ;)

So if I wave a knife at someone in an argument but don't use it on them I'm ok then?

Not to dissimilar tbh.
If the Police stop a car and search it, and in the boot is a tool bag and among the tools are a claw hammer and a Stanley knife, then they would probably just be described as tools.

If on the other hand they stop the car and find the knife in the door pocket and the hammer under the seat then that can be looked at differently.

If they stopped a car and found a Shotgun Licence holder with a pair of shotguns in a bag in the boot that would be one thing, but to find them just placed on the back seat would be different.

Just to add I have drove with a hammer in passenger foot well, but did have things like hammer pop metal screws screw drivers

This makes me think of a road wars episode I saw ages ago :D

Cop: what's the baseball bat doing in your boot?

Chav: it's for self defence

Cop: that means your in possession of an offensive weapon and your under arrest

:p

It's going to be a matter of whether you can justify the presence in the footwell of "tools".

My Brother-in-Law (who's from Middlesbrough) was once stopped in the street with a claw hammer sticking out of his pocket and a Stanley knife in his back pocket. He was a joiner and was coming out of a butty shop at the time with half a dozen sarnies and a tray of tea and coffee. He could also show where he was working round the corner and others could vouch for him. He was advised that he could be prosecuted for carrying an offensive weapon.

As the cop walked off, Roy asked if it was true that Moss Side was a bit rough. The Officer said he had a point.

The location doesn't really matter, otherwise everyone who lived in a dodgy area could walk round with a .357 Magnum in their pocket.

My speed on the initial approach would've been sub 30 - remember, vehicles to my offside would've been slowing down for the first roundabout (there was a car on it) - which i don't have to do since the bus lane isn't a part of the roundabout.
As we set off onto the roundabout, the old girl hung back in order to pull in behind the car in lane 2 - I'm not going to stop 'just in case' (although I assume this is what she did as she ended up sitting just off my tail end - and that's a good 20' back.) since there were vehicles behind me.

Some people really cannot brew a decent cuppa  :D
There are parts of Mancland (and probably every other city) whereby having a cake with your brew could well land you in the Magistrates.

There are also some areas where a brew can actually be an offensive weapon, but only if you actually drink it. :(

going in the back of someone is always your fault really... Even if an idiot stamps on the brakes in front of you for no reason you should be alert enough and far back enough to stop.. once your stood in court try arguing against that, trust me i have been there, you can't argue against it at all. Only really going to get out of it if its dense fog or something like that.. (n)

Not really as you're not driving to the conditions.

Only get out would be if you can prove they've just cut you up, or another unlikely factor.

Hence the need for a dashcam (or two). Proves if someone has cut you up or if a car stops suddenly without any kind of warning (ie, disconnected brake lights) - alternatively, proves if you were hanging off someone's tail!
