YouTube- 2010 toyota corolla recall
Just remembered my friends fiesta got the throttle stuck wide open on his first week of driving, even the mighty 1.3 in 5th was more than a match for the brakes. remember he paniced a bit at the time, if i knew as much about cars now as i did then i'd tell him to stamp on the accelerater repeatedly as it was physically stuck. stopped it though by turning off the engine with the key, wasn't too difficult from memory... though to turn a key while driving on a straight stretch of road phwoar the adrenaline of it all
LOL reverse. IdiotThere isn't a car on the market with an engine which can over-power the brakes.
Almost all of the 'accidents' caused by the fault on Toyotas have happened because someone too stupid to be allowed a licence has been behind the wheel.
That American woman.... claiming her car continued to accelerate even though she put it into reverse, ffs! - no, it didn't - you just don't know how to operate your car.

I have an automatic Toyota.
You can put it into neutral whilst on the move.
You can even put it into neutral and kill the engine with the 'Start/Stop' button whilst on the move.
