Found the loose wire. Was one of the connections on the back of the starter button, fortunately managed to get at it from behind the dash without having to remove the panel. yippee.

Reassembled the induction and got the car running, sounds great.

Then spent some time fitting more underbody plastics.

Next event is 5th December, and I can't do it, otherwise engaged.

So looks like 2010.

Bugger the Blog just get your ar*e in gear and tell us what the LSD is like in real competition

I don't care about whether it blogs tweets facebags, Bobo;s etc just want to know the results

OK, there are other pressures on my life. Will now be 2010 before any competition, so I'd rather get the rest of the prep done while its in bits.

Fuel sampling kit?

For the MSA Competition Logbook Id hazard a guess? All cars logbooked after 1/11/2009 need one now, its a stupid rule. Your either re-logbooking it or getting it done for the first time I take it?

Yup, all cars, whether log booked previously or not, are required to have a method of drawing off fuel from the system.

Sooo cold up here, but the workshop is warm.

One of the things to remember when 'modding' a car is to keep checking your work. Having played with the induction and moved a couple of relays, I attempted to start the engine. No fuel pump, mmmm.

After a bit of digging with the meter it was the main management relay that had failed.

Temp replacement at the mo, will get a new one tomorrow.

2nd T pull fitted, extinguisher this time. Dropped a blob of oil down each one in the hope these ones don't seize.

Extractor vent fashioned into offside of bumper.

More plastic protection fitted, and the engine oil dropped. in readiness for new oil and filter tomorrow.

Also tomorrow, the navigators horn button to be fitted.

Still waiting for the engineering shop to finish with the TREs.

Going to speak to the scroot tonight to see if he can come and advise on what more needs to be done.

I have dropped a subtle hint to the organisers of a big event featuring Italian cars coming up next year.

Didn't think it was eligible for the Historic Mille Miglia ;)

The event I have in mind is almost as prestigious, its by invitation only.

What's this extractor vent?

Trying to get more air out of the radiator. There is a gap between the inner plastic guard and the radiator mount. I have fabricated a vent in the side of the bumper to exploit this gap.

Whe you say "out of the radiator" do you mean getting air out form the inside of the radiator, or getting more air out of the "back" allowing a better flow of air through the radiator?

Allowing the air that enters the front of the car, passing through the rad, somewhere else to go.

I am fitting more protection to the side of the sumpguard which will effect the amount of air that can escape under the car.

I have fitted different under arch protection so that at the rad side it stops just above the level of the bumper support strut allowing some heat out into the wheel arch.

I also have the bonnet vent to let some out there, but with a stat on both the coolant and oil cooler, it can't really be too cold.
