General temp gauge problem

hi all fiat bravo 1.2...when im driving the temp gauge goes to the halfway point,when im going uphill the guage goes even further to the top although it doesnt go into the red. once im on a straight then the gauge will go down to the halfway mark or sometimes below..any ideas..the car was serviced in may this year at a reputable garage by the previous owners..thanks.
