sweet wrapper charge

sweet wrapper charge

im sorry people but this is a 14 month old girl dropping a small sweet wrapper out of a window, she knows no better and she put no lifes in danger and the fine was £75, just remind me what the fine is for speeding! £60

I admit the fine is probably a bit harsh, but I can only agree with what others have said....

At the end of the day, the child was her responsibility and part of that responsibility involves being accountable for the child's actions....

And as for 'do you just bend over a get shafted for everything?' comment....

Well I try not to do things that result in me being fined tbh....However, if a child in my care did something like this, I like to think I would pay the fine....Otherwise I would be a bit of a hypocrite....

Ok, I don't like litter but this wasn't someone littering like throwing their mcdonalds bags out the car as they drive away.. This was ONE sweet wrapper.

1. Someone really needs to get out more/get out less. Unless they were really littering lots and delibratly I wouldn't report them.

2. What if she had simply denied it? Is one person's word good enough now to impose a £75 fine? Seems a good way to get back at people you don't like.

3. Maybe if we didn't cutback on services so much we'd be able to afford to send a man in a road sweeper around more often. Maybe if we didn't spend £5000 trying to fine someone for littering we'd be able to afford another roadsweeper!
