Total shocker to be fair that it got that far

But I've got to ask was the child copying an adult by throwing rubbish out of the window? Or just something she did as a one off?

no we are not litter bugs, my side pocket is over flowing with with rubbish because i dont throw it out the window

no im very mithed that money i learn and pay out to the goverment and council is wasted on things as stupid as this

In that case why waste more taxpayers money by choosing to take it to court rather than paying the fine....?

Did she get paid for posing for the pictures btw....?

im afraid im with the no littering law
i keep all in my door pocket.
wait
i now agree that since it was a baby its ok
thought it was your daughter

and since it was technically dropped by a under 16
them being the main litterers anyways
why was it taken so far legally
reported by a passer by!?

have you read the article???
why should she pay it for my 14 month old daughter at the time dropping a small mint wrapper out of the window? £75 fine is alot for a £30 a week student to pay, especialy when she didn't do it.

do you just bend over a get shafted for everything?

At the end of the day the adult is responsible for the child fullstop including their upbringing - had the value of not dropping litter been instilled properly / reinforced there would be no fine to pay. :)

The fine was her responsibility to pay because she was the adult in charge of the child at the time. The fines are fixed amounts because the council staff are not trained to assess fines according to defendants means as would happen in a court. When she got to court her income was taken into account and no fine imposed. We do this all the time in the magistrates courts. it is an inevitable consequence of giving police/judicial powers to people who are not trained for the work.

Expect it to get worse as more and more people are given the power to impose fines.

Why does she not know better ? and hence why the adult responsible was orderd to pay the fine :)

Make sure before she sets off that there aren't things within easy reach of a baby and she's well strapped in - what if she'd swallowed the wrapper and choked on it, or there'd been a smash and she wasn't strapped in properly? ;)

18 month olds dont choke they can walk n talk cant they?
getting that bit smarter
