In an effort to get rid of the front page and replace it back with the forum listing, I'd like to try and move the current front page boxes down the left or right hand side.

However to do this, we'd need to widen the forum a bit - so the question to you people is simple, do you use a below 1024 pixel screen width?

@Adrian - Thanks for reminding me - I forgot I ran analytics on this, ok, so according to that, only 2.44% of users are running 800x600

Although aparently 108 people are using 800x5000 !!

Page here, would replace the page here - but with a right hand (or left hand) column which had a few of the current boxes off the front page (latest guides / news / classifieds) etc ...

Could then use the extra width on the forum listing pages to list classifieds for that group - and just allow the thread pages to default to being wider (no extra columns)

Or something like that ...

i use 800x600 on my laptop, and beyond that isn't a very eee pc stylé laptop friendly

though on my main pc my full display width is 1440 (+1078)

so unless i can turn it off.. i don't like the idea of a wider template.

i have an EEE but im sure i can cope with it

I have an eee pc but the resolution is 1024x600 - only the 4g and 8g were lower and you can't buy them anymore? (none of the netbooks out here are lower than 1024 wide)

Of course though you could get around that problem by setting the forum to full screen width - it would look gash on an 1440 resolution but would settle everything in on the 800x600 ...
