Technical Sunroof issues

how proud does it sit? Mine sits about 2mm higher at the rear center of the glass, as its been like that from new.

similar with mine really... ah well, might take it out and tint it anyway

does yours rattle a little when you shut the doors?

it's a sei thing then mine was like it and i got it brand new.

Tinting may look naff as its already got those dots all over it, and it won't adhere very well, unless you use spray . Did yours dome complete with the internal, removable cover? Better than any tint and easily changeable, thats my opinion anyway.

Think mine was also sat ever so slightly high as well, i noticed it and never said anything because it didnt cause any problems or leaks, seems its the norm

As for tinting the sunroof....why? You're meant to let the sun in and lighten the cabin up not block it out

At least this post might be helpful for those with "real" sunroof problems

Dunno why I fancy tinting it.... hard to say really.

My Gf's Clio has a dark tinted sunroof - looks the business both inside and out.
Might give it a go - if it looks crap at least I know now how to put in a new glass

I've got one of them roof panel things yeah - but mine is a little bent outta shape and stained.
It also rattles when it's in and looks a bit naff imho... :yum:

mine sticks proud too. need to clean out my drain holes but sticking wire down doesnt seem to work

pressure washer an/or hose blasted down will do the trick.

ALso make sure you haven't crushed the oulets at the bottom of the sill.

Hi, does all this apply to Cinq sunroofs too? I opened mine only the once since I had it, and it pulled the rubber seal with it, luckily it had just come off the lip and I fitted it back on before lowering the s/r back down. My s/r also is slightly raised at the back when shut, and although it has never leaked, and I have been in some heavy rainstorms before now, it does let in a sound of the wind when driving.

I think so, both my Cinq and Sei have the rear slightly proud of the roof but they don't leak so I'm happy.

hehe - think it got stained (and bent), from being in the boot (and now that my sub is crushing up against it that can't help).....(hannnnnnnng on a damn minute!!! that's what that bloody rattle is in the boot!!!!!! Dude you're a genius!!! :worship: ).

nah - its just on the sunroof cover, which looks like it's never really been used - probably just been stashed in the boot since new.
I'm gonna take the damn thing outta the car - pretty certain it is that that has been causing my random rattle

Does anyone know were ill get a new winder mechanism for my sunroof? I broke mine!!! (closed it but screwed it too much and so snapped the bit inside!) Would FIAT dealers parts dept have one?

yes they would, but probably charge an arm and a leg.....try breakers, ebay etc.
