Today I thought I'd check and service the front brakes, and came across some strange looking clips on the pad pins. At first I thought someone had used a bit of wire in place of the original clips but both sides were the same. Instead of looking similar to a hair grip as used by many brake manufacturers these were of a shape I've never seen before. Unfortunately I don't have any photos as the first one broke as I removed it and the other one also broke as I tried to re shape it to look like one in an Autodoc video that I watched. Anyway I did the service and made the pins safe by the use of cut down split pins. I checked eBay etc to see if I could get the afore mentioned clips, but all they show is the hairgrip type.

Any thoughts please.

Original are normally similar to these

However if you order a front pad kit you normally get something like this, even from the likes of brembo

Which are just standard R clips

Thanks for the replays. Both of mine were like a broken version of koalar's first picture.
I assumed I'd broken the first one, but the second one was similar.
